Maybe the new system would finally drill that into peoples' heads ....

Nope, they're just drinking one helluva lot of tea. (I had a character who overdosed on caffeine pills and died. Don't trust that stuff yo.)

Lets just call it huffing kittens. You pay some shady dealer (Carl) and in return you get kittens to huff which hepl you stay awake longer as well as slowing down time and other wacky things.

Long time player, just joined forum so I could vote on this.

Please dont make it realtime!
There are plenty of store games and down-loadable games that are real time music industry games and no doubt far superior to this in that field.
Dont compete, stay unique.

It does need some extra upgrades though, which have been suggested.
Double album, set lists, greatest hits and buying points...

They would all be awesome additions.
I'd rather stick to the music stuff than the party drug rockstar stuff though, been done to death.

I think I agree with the above comment the more I think about it. There are already a lot of music games that are real-time and I hate every one of them. I think all this game needs is to be a bit more advanced with the touring, album releasing, writing, and in-game award shows would be sweet too.

If Carl adds buying points with ingame money, I'm orf. It would ruin TRSG (yes, that's right, The Rockstar Game, not The Time Lord Game) - it makes it even easier for the people who have got all the regions and can always afford good production, as if it wasn't easy enough at that stage. Give me one good reason why you should be able to get points for ingame cash. ("I need more points" isn't a reason, it's whining.) If you need points that badly, either wait, or buy some and support the game.

Personally I think it should stay as it was, because this way if my playing is a bit sporadic it's okay because I still get the points back to sort it out when I can be bothered, a lot of people can't go on it every day and don't want a game that's as in depth as you propose it. In a perfect world, make two games with the two separate systems but whatevsss.

I think more information is needed first. Will having things real time make the game biased towards those who log on every day? I try and get on most days but there are times when i'm busy or away with work. Will I be punished for that by missing out on things in the game? The points system is good because if I can't log on for a couple of days I can still get up to where I would have been had I been able to log in more often.

While I'm interested to see how it works, when I actually think about it I have the same reservations as everyone else. I don't log in every week, let alone every day, so making it real time would probably alienate me.

I'd rather the updates were used on things such as allowing us to have more tracks on albums or letting us have in game labels. I liked the idea of making setlists for tours, that sounds cool. In other words, I think that the game needs edits rather than an entire new way of playing - that's not to say that I'm not interested in giving the real-time way a shot.

I think it'd be a bit like this ....
"My Arse Died" logs in on Sunday, and sets up a schedule for the week (or for the day or the month, or however long you want) ....
Monday : Practise ability. Rest for a bit.
Tuesday : Gig at The Royal Albert Hall, London, UK (supporting Moronic Changeling).
Wednesday : Practise songwriting. Rest some more. (Your band's kinda lazy, but as you know, they have to be to do well.)
Thursday : Gig at The Roxy, New York, USA (supported by Firecracker 47).
Friday : Write three songs - "Comatose (M.A.D cover)", "Comatose (Reckoner cover)", "Comatose (Bikki cover)".
Saturday : Give writings to producer (Tony Visconti - who else!?), to make new single "Comatose (M.A.D cover)".
Sunday : Rest. Watch weekly charts. My Arse Died - "Comatose (M.A.D cover)" gets World #1. "Rest" again because you passed out due to party drugs.
.... and you can log in again and change any of that. That's my idea of a calendar system - no need to log in daily, unless you want to.
(Carl's idea may be something completely different ovkorpse and why am I using Thorgrimtalk!?)

Just make the donate scheme more points.

I for one have NEVER donated. As bikz said YOU CANT BUY TIME!

Yeah, we've all heard you say the same thing three or four times now, let everyone else have their say.

One good reason is it would give you something to aim for with money than just doing the same thing over.

Then when you donate you could get money instead of points and do what you want with it.

Can I just say you will NEVER be able to buy points with in-game money.

I was up for scrapping points - it makes it a lot easier to add the new features like carrying out promotional duties and better touring features. In a points based system these features don't work.. they'll be just another way to use all your points.

I don't know now.. will have to have a rethink.

That's it. I'd say there should be a month limit on scheduling, maybe three..? As you'd need to schedule tours in advance.

There will be other things to do on a daily basis too - dilemmas/random events.

If anything in the game you should be able to schedule...tours, recording albums, writing songs etc etc. I'd like to see that.

_____________
The Black Gates- Progressive technical metal
The Infidels!- Retro doom funk grindcore
The Graveyard Sluts- dirty, slutty rawwwwk
Psycopathologist- old school death grind

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's just that your's is stupid.

Ok, if it's done like that then I think it would be fine...I was worried that you'd have to log in every day to do stuff which not everyone can do. But if you can log in once a week and set up what you want your band to do, it's not a problem :)

i still think real time is a good idea...

you just have a calander system where each day has a set number of events that are possible, and only certain events are available at certain times.... allow people to plan for say a week and its fine if people only want to log in once a week..... if other people want to micro manage their bands it again lets them..

it also gets rid of this stupid buying points argument... which for me makes it worth it either way!

If that is the case, where you schedule it, then I'd be fully in support, sounds really cool :)
