ARDE is the first full-lenght album by the american metal band HERO(IN). The work for the album started back in 2012 and the recordings began on February 2013. The album was recorded from February until June 2013 and was co-produced by the band and Steve Rosenfield (best known for his work with the Tom Wheels Band). It was recorded and mixed at the La Muerte Studios, San José, Costa Rica. Arde (latin for Burn) includes very different styles and genres...from latin folk to extreme metal. It's not a concept album, but the most part of the album has war-themed lyrics, specifically, about the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

A good song. We wrote this song against the US Government. I began writting after the Irak War but finished it last year. I think the Government won't like this song too much haha, but we don't give a fuck. We have a lot of political songs for our debut album and this is one of them. The music is very heavy / extreme, influenced by bands like Sepultura and Blood Of Wecz. Hope you like it!" - Dave Moreno.
This is an extreme / hardcore song with deep growl screams, fast drumbeats and power-metal style guitar solos.

"One of the wildest songs I've ever composed . It's really influenced by the Speed Metal style, it remembers me of first Megadeth. The lyrics were written by Mike, with them, he tells the story of an american soldier left alone on a godforsaken desert, probably Iraq or something like that. The song has a lot of frentic guitar solos and a lot of growl and screams too." - Dave Moreno.
An old-school Thrash Metal song, influenced by the 80's powerful Speed Metal with a lot of fast guitar chords and riffs.

"This song is fucking wild. Very influenced by the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. The lyrics are simple. With them you realize we fucking hate the politicians and all that shit. Mike made a great vocal performance for this song, changing from clean into growl voices and screams." - Dave Moreno.
This song is really influenced by modern-metal like the American New Wave and it has a lot of progressive and complex touches.

"Love this tune. Very dark and heavy, it scares me haha...It has some progressive rythm-changes and a lot of blast-beats courtesy of the great Mark. The initial riff is just awesome, very catchy, like the old Megadeth." - Dave Moreno.
It starts as a mid-tempo Thrash Metal song with strong and catchy riffs but then it turns into a chaotic Extreme tune with blast beats and fast riffs.

"I think it's the anthem of the album. A really dark song with a some arabic melodies, like the Qanun sample-introduction and some acoustic guitars backwards. Its powerful chorous is really catchy and I'm sure it one of the bests we've written so far...The lyrics talk about the jihadist fighters." - Dave Moreno.
Mid-Tempo Progressive tune with arabic and acoustic melodies. Its chorous has a lot of arabic-touches and some choral work. It's also some orchestral accompaniment.

"A simple but fast and powerful song. A Nü Metal style with very distorted guitars and a very saturated sound of the bass. The lyrics?...obviously they are about war, more specifically, about a condecorated american-soldier who doesn't agree of being called a hero." - Dave Moreno.
Extreme and fast song with one main riff repeated during the entire song. The one and only song from the album not to feature a guitar solo.

"My fucking masterpiece. The title-track is totally sung in Spanish and it has the most-powerful chorous of the album. It makes you angry haha! Frentic, fast, heavy but very, very melodic. I had to teach Mike this language as he didn't know it...It was very hard work but it was worth it." - Dave Moreno.
A spanish-sung Hardcore song with a very heavy and 'angry' chorous. It starts off with very fast guitar melodies and then all hell breaks loose.

"One of the latest songs we recorded. Mike wrote the lyrics on his home and one day he took them to the rehearsal. I composed the music for them in just some minutes and it's still a good song." - Dave Moreno.
Influenced by Crossover and Groove Metal styles like Sepultura, this song is a blast changing from slow, mid and fast tempos in a short time. It starts off with military drums and some war sounds.

A very simple but catchy song, different from all the others, it has a funny or party feeling, not like the war-sad themes of the rest of the album. First Week: The album sold 126,000 copies in its debut but failed to enter the Heat Top 20, it reached the #24 position.
Second Week: Arde sold 146,000 copies to enter the Top 20 at #9 position.

Chart Update
Third Week: The album sold 110,000 copies and fell to the #11 spot.
Fourth Week: Arde sold 180,000 copies to return to the Top 10, at #10. It marks its second week among the 10 best-selling albums. This is the best-selling week for the record, surpassing the 146,000 sales of two weeks ago.

Fifth Week: The album had its best-selling week until then with 186,000 sales, reaching the Top 5 at #5.
Sixth Week: Arde sold 190,000 copies. It fell to the #6 position but has its record-selling week, exceeding the 186,000 sales of its previous week.
It has sold a total amount of 938,000 copies. This last two weeks were the most-successful for the record, with almost 400,000 sales. |
