Genre: Nü Metal / Thrash Metal
Lenght: 3:58
Release Date: February 4th 2014
Label: Fuck The Alternative Records
Format: Digital Download, CD
Written by: Mike Haley & Dave Moreno
Produced by: HERO(IN) & Steve Rosenfield

Chart Positions: #16 Downloads / #16 Airplay
Sales: 381,000+
Certifications: None

Writing & Recording:

The song was written by Dave and Mike in July 2013 in the US. Moreno composed all the music and wrote some parts of the lyrics, Haley helped him with the writting. It was recorded this last August at the La Muerte Studios, San José and was produced, mixed, engineered and mastered by Steve Rosenfield and coproduced by the band.

About the Song:

"A simple but fast and powerful song. A Nü Metal style with very distorted guitars and a very saturated sound of the bass. The lyrics?...obviously they are about war, more specifically, about a condecorated american-soldier who doesn't agree of being called a hero." - Dave Moreno.

Extreme and fast song with one main riff repeated during the entire song. The one and only song from the album not to feature a guitar solo.

Lyrics:

Killed some and saved some
A hero they called me
But I know it is not
Something to be proud

Became almighty, treated like a god
Immortal in their memories
But this is not right
Dirty glory on my mind

For killing and torturing innocent
I’m treated like superior kind
I can’t understand why

Chorus:
Dirty glory made of false heroes
There is no feat in war
Nobody really wins

A hero of war they called me
But just a soldier that fought for himself
I am really

Don’t care about my flag
In the jungle I had to kill to survive
Nothing else matters
It’s to kill or to be killed

Chorus:
Dirty glory made of false heroes
There is no feat in war
Nobody really wins

Voices:
Clean
Growl

Deadeye: Are you trying t say that soldiers don't deserve the credit they are given for fighting for our country. We fought for your rights to make this song, to say the heroics of soldiers to save their country is false, and they only cared about themselves, is fuckin ridiculous and pisses me off.

OOC: On a lighter note. Great song.

Dave: We're trying to say that soldiers don't deserve the credit they are given for torturing and killing innocent people...You know the truth man, the american went to Iraq for the petrol, they are no saviours. I do not hate the american soldiers, there are some that are real heroes, but there are others that don't deserve anything but my repudiation, have you seen the photos of american playing with devastated bodies of their enemies? That's not behaviour of a hero. I hate that type of "heroes".

Mike: Awesome! It's great to read we have a new fan. You know, we are not one of the most famous bands out there so it's a goal to see new audienes is hearing us!

OOC: Thanks for your comments, guys! It's awesome to get some good feedback :)...And, personally, I have nothing against the soldiers or americans, it's just the style of the band!

Deadeye: I served four tours in Iraq and two in Afghanistan. I have a metal plate in my skull because some fuck shot me in the eye. I can barely hear anything because of an IED explosion in Afghanistan, and I'm one of the lucky ones. When you're out there you see that it's life or death. Why don't you watch as some suicide bombing fuck in a truck drives straight into your base. It changes you out there. I have a phobia of driving on dirt roads now because I'm afraid that an IED will go off while I'm driving. Life changes, you don't get used to it. It sticks with you your whole life. I'm not the only one that suffers from PTSD.

OOC: Yep, gotta be like your bands. Helps the realism.

Dave: You said it, when you're out there it's life or death. I don't think that a soldier who is fighting to survive is a hero. Come-on, no soldier gives a fuck about "saving Iraqis from their hell", they are fighting for themselves, I don't think that's a hero. My brother is in the army and I don't consider him a hero, he did nothing heroic, he just killed enemy soliders. I've other definition of what a hero is.

OOC: Thanks again guys!

Dave: Save us from what?...There weren't weapons of mass destruction, it was just an excuse to invade! Iraq is a more dangerous area now than before the invasion...

Deadeye: There was WMD's. How do I know that. We gave fuckin WMDs to them when they were fighting Iran. Guess who has these weapons now, fuckin Syria! And it's not like the soldiers knew what exactly what was going on, no one could, Sadaam kept stalling, sounds suspicious to me.

Dave: Yeah but that happened decades ago. The army never found evidences about an active program of WMD during the invasion. That was just an excuse, I'm sure of that. That weapons disappeared in the 90s!

Deadeye: You're right we didn't give a fuck while we were being shot at. Right then, your goal wasn't only to survive, but to watch the back of the soldier next to you. Iraq is not a place where you can stay in a strong frame of mind your whole time there. I've watched people kill themselves over that fuckin country. But it wasn't Iraq that sickened me the most. I got my PTSD from my final tour in Afghanistan.

Dave: I agree with that...I was always totally against the war. I think the government, that motherfucker named Bush (who I fucking hate), never should sent the army to a godforsaken land. But they just want the millions, the petrol, they don't give a fuck about soldiers. For them, soldiers are pawns.

Deadeye: I actually don't blame Bush for the Iraq war. Was it a disaster? Yes, but it was unprecedented, and unlike what others believe, I think that Bush started the war out of morales. And I don't blame him for the disaster it became, but we should not have left. If we went there we should have finished the job. But we were pulled out. That's what pisses me off, we were pulled out and let Iraq become a disaster.

Dave: I think Bush has been responsible for more American deaths than the terrorists themselves. That war had no sense and as you said, the soldiers were pulled out. It's clear they wanted the "fortunes of war", they were not interested in stabilizing the situation or helping the innocents, if not, the army would be still there: the situation is not better than some years ago.

Deadeye: But Bush was not the one to pull us out. He took the criticism and did what he thought was right. Obama just tried to appease the public. Which I can say oone thing. The public has little to no idea what has happened over there, and aren't really un the position to make decisions.

Dave: I don't think Bush did what he thought was right...He was waiting an excuse to invade and get the fortunes. The perfect excuse was the Semptember 11 Attacks. And they invented all that shit about the WMD's to maintain such a big invasion...Bush is responsible for the deatrh of thousands of american soldiers. Obama? Another incompetent President. He just wanted to calm the people but as you said the most part of the public have no idea of what happened there.
