Welcome to the NEW Reckoner Website which is the product of the merging of Reckoner Blog and the former Official Site. This Website is more of an improved version of the old site and makes things easier for us. The site includes different features like blog updates, news about the band, a gig archive, and many many more!

Reckoner was formed sometime in 2004 when Troy Mascenon met Carl Morrisson in their high school back in Teignmouth. Troy was a known multi instrumentalist in his class and Carl was a self taught beginner guitarist and a member of the local choir. Troy offered Carl free guitar lessons and invited him to form a band, Carl gladly accepted the offer and their unnamed band was formed. Troy recruited his cousin Tristan Fuller, to be the band's drummer. The band went on to be one of the most recognizable new bands in Teignmouth's music scene under the name Project: MK Ultra. After playing a gig in their school, they met John Paul Carter, who noticed they lacked a bassist and asked them if he could audition for the role, they let him audition and he got the spot. JC Anderson, who was already in college at that time and was the lead guitarist of local metal band Psyko, saw the same gig and thought that alternative music was really his style, he then auditioned and landed the role of a keyboardist, which later changed to lead guitarist. The day they released their self titled EP, they decided to change their name to Reckoner which "sounded cooler". The band are curently on a world tour.

Acoustic Sessions is a EP released in 3 parts by British alt-rock band Reckoner. It features the live performance of Reckoner inside the Suicide Studios during their 5-day break from touring from March 1-6, this would be released under V-Records though and it would be our first official release for our new label. The performance was acoustic and only featured lead vocalist Troy Mascenon on acoustic guitars and vocals, and lead guitarist JC Anderson on electric guitars, acoustic guitars and piano, the other band members were at lunch. The EP contains 9 songs separated in 3 parts each containing old songs(like Negative and Oxygen) and new songs. The 3-part EP would be released digitally through our official website 2+2=5. Purchase it online today!

Our next full length album has not yet been worked on, we're really busy with the touring and we don't have that much time of recording, expect it to come real soon though..

Announcement:
Calling out all music producers, the band Reckoner is in need of a producer to start their works on their next full length album. this is a statement from the band's frontman, Troy Mascenon:

"Since we are out of Suicide Records, Kieran Marks could no longer produce anymore singles or albums for the band. We are calling out any producer willing to work with us. We want someone who can share the same vision we have for our future works, we wouldn't want someone to direct us what to do since that would just lead to pressure and tension which might even lead to arguments hindering the progress of production. What I'm trying to say is that we need a producer who knows what to do with the record, without changing it too much. Someone who can work with the band through problems and other challenges, we want to release the next record as soon as possible."

If you are interested in producing for the band, please contact us right away..(OOC:PM)

Previously we have posted an ad on this very website looking for a music producer interested in working with the band, luckily we were able to have some of the best producers answer our ad. They are:

1.Regan Futrell- frontman of some of the greatest bands in history, all members of Reckoner have been fans of Regan Futrell's work, especially Quarantine and his solo projects. Troy Mascenon has stated that the reason they chose Regan to produce the album was because he was behind the production of one of the band's all-time favorite albums, Rx. He is also behind other great albums like The Ego and Its Own by Bunker18 and the new Waiting Room album.

2.Ryan Ross Hernandez- the blues guitarist and heartthrob famous for his work in PANIC! and solo career. Carl Morrisson has expressed his admiration for Mr. Hernandez's work especially his solo album Dark Secret Love. RRH has produced some of the most well known albums in history like PANIC!'s 3rd and 4th studio albums Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner & Broken Down on Memory Lane and Ashley Perry's solo album Songs Meet Heartbeats

3.Liam O'Mally- admired by the band for The Lost's hit album, Violence With Violins. The band wanted to have Liam O'Mally onboard production because they thought that he could give a good effect on the album's alternative, guitar ridden, pop rock side and maybe he can guess on some vocals and other stuff.

With this lineup of producers, no doubt the album would be a massive success!

It's going to be a great album no doubt. And looking very forward to working with the other producers too!

Blur EP is an extended play, including the song with the same name, by the alternative rock band Reckoner. The EP features 6 tracks recorded during their sophomore album sessions in V-Records Studios. The EP showcases the band's versatility with other "harder" genres such as metal and punk and . The EP also features songs written by other band members, such as Carl Morrisson and JC Anderson. Please note that the songs in this EP are the result of unmixed, raw material from the band, we just wish to show you how far we've come with the second album...

Blog Update 04/14/10:

Hey guys this is Carl and we're at the Dirty Bastard right now. I'm the one blogging because everybody else is fucking drunk out of their minds. So I just want to inform you that Reckoner won two Birdies tonight, one for Best Newcomer and the other for Best Live Act. At first we were astonishes at winning since we never even expected to win any of those awards. We also performed and debuted two new songs for the attendants, one is Blur from the Blur EP, and the other one is an unnamed and undecided track, hope they enjoyed it. So I'm logging off and I'm gonna get drunk too ya'know, see you guys in the morning!

Thank you for that compliment man! Although I really honestly thought we would be losing to Mind on Best Newcomer and to RRH on Best Live Act, but a miracle has happened and we won both. You guys do have a great chance for the next Birdies though, we hope to see you there!
