Scott falls backwards into the water and swims around. He looks at the fish around him and swims over to Gia, waving to her and smiling. He hugs her under the water and then swims away again. |

Gia smiles at Scott then continues to swim with her instructor. The two of them dive deeper and deeper as Gia smiles to herself as she sees the different types of fish she had never seen before. She then sees something shiny and proceeds to go after it. She reached down and found it was only her imagination so she decided to swim away. Just as she was turning, Gia hit her head on a rock that was close to where she was and bumped her head. Everything started to go black for Gia. She couldn't see anything anymore and she had no idea what was going on. The instructor was alarmed of the situation and swam over to help her as fast as she could. |

Scott is swimming next to a huge lobster and marvelling at its size when he turns round just to see the instructor swim towards Gia, who has now gone totally limp. He panics, dropping the breathing apparatus from his mouth as he swims towards Gia with the worst thoughts filling his head. Almost in tears, Scott scoops up his wife and makes for the surface. |

Gia was laying in a hospital bed a few hours after the accident. She hadn't responded to anyone and doctors feared the worst. She just lay there completely still, slowly breathing with the oxygen mask covering her mouth. Her hair was dry and a little frizzy now and her hands were laying beside her, eerily still. The doctor has checked on her a few minutes ago and then decided to let her rest for the night. |

Scott was sat next to Gia on the chair in her room, holding her hand tightly and rubbing her arm with his other hand. After a while, a nurse comes in and smiles at him.
"Hi....sir theres nothing going to happen tonight. If you want I can find you a bed in the hospital and you can get some rest."
Scott looks up and then raises his hand that's holding Gias. "I asked her if she wanted me to hold her hand when we went diving. She said she always wanted me to hold her hand. I can't let it go now. I won't let her down." He speaks with a weak voice, tears in his eyes. |

As the doctor walks out, Layla walks in. She had heard about Gia through Scott and she rushed to be here. She saw Scott sitting beside her holding her hand and she felt bad for him. "Scott.." She walked up to him and laid her hand on his shoulder. "How is she?" |

Scott was just sat staring at Gia, almost begging her to wake up and be alright again. He kept rubbing her hand and watching her for any sign of life. He kissed her hand gently and then looked up when Layla came in. He shook his head. "They said there's no reactions to anything they do. She's...she's not doing well." |

Layla looked at her best friend lying still in that hospital bed. She couldn't believe she'd have to be back here again looking at Gia looking helpless. She knew this was tearing Scott up inside and she felt for him. "She's strong. I'm sure she's just waiting until she's ready.." She tried to smile a little then she looked at Scott. "You look tired. Why don't you get some sleep and I'll sit beside her?" |

Scott looks back at Gia and sighs. "I know...I know shes strong, but her brain isn't reacting to anything at all. Nothing." he starts to cry a little before taking a long deep breath and sighing. He shakes his head. "No. I'm not leaving her. I'm not letting her hand go. She told me she wanted me to hold her hand...she needs me." |

He puts his head down and sighs again. He kisses Gias hand. "She needs me here beside her more. I can't leave her Layla. Aurora can see to Sophie and Bailey." He looks up at her. |
