Y - Release Date: 3.22.11

Information
Once The Queen of J-Pop, Yumi's silence for the last year has been met with confusion, and now details surface. The singer has been receiving ongoing treatment for sudden agoraphobia and depression, and treatment has been responding positively, leading the singer to plan and release the upcoming 7th single, Y, and establish the beginning of a comeback.

The three songs featured on the new single include the title track 'Y', a personal song of rebirth and new perspective on love and life, and a wish for her listeners to connect through their mutual understanding of each other's struggles. The two follow-up songs are the prelude to what may be a new sound for the singer once known for her edgy pop. With gritty, 80s-inspired dance-pop, Yumi is taking cues from legend Stephanie Fierce, whose club-banging melodies and chest-pounding beats have rocked souls on Earth, in Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory.

'爆発 of Hearts (Explosion of Hearts)' comes second with a gritty, club-banging romp about the side effects of love, and dives deep into the rediscovery of self when old love fades. 'After Love...?' is the sequel to 'Y', a classic Yumi ballad about learning to move forward and let the past fade in the distance.

Eun Young: OMG! We're so in love with you! You inspired us so much! It's great that you're OK now. I'm sure 'Y' is a good song. BTW, I'm Eun Young, MiSTAR leader, a K-Pop group who try to make it big in the US market.

It's amazing to hear that the market in Korea has become somewhat national now. I have so much to catch up on, but I hope that I'll be able to work with MiSTAR and Young, along with other prominent Asian and International artists soon. I'm very proud to hear that MiSTAR is paving the road for the international market of Korean pop; this wasn't remotely imaginable when I first began my career, and the first two big breakout Asian singers were Yumi Takahashi and myself. The talent is jaw-dropping these days.

"My God! We truly are a talented bunch. The fact that we write entire albums all on our own while the biggest stars in the world have 45 co-writers on ONE track?? Where the hell are OUR record deals and GRAMMYS?" -BrownSugar
