In the music business there are bands that go down in history, those who fade away into the history books, and then there are The Rockers. A band that does not know the word quit they have been riding a wave of dates over the past year after their triumphant return to music and the release of their return album, "Where Did My World Go".

The album can be described as a somber look at the decline and fall of the music industry. Indeed, that is exactly how lead singer, Johnny Johnson describes it.

"I think the business has sort of lost track of itself lately man. There was a time when every artist knew the other, there were friendly relationships that produced some of the greatest music of all time and then there were arguments that made both sides produce better music in an effort to prove themselves. Musicians didn't use to make music for themselves, or for the money...it was about the crowd, and the...prestige."

Johnson, who recently was divorced by his wife of 3 years Stephanie Fierce says he is in a bit of a slump emotionally.

"I thought I was doing it right ya know? I lived for her, and she lived for me....somethings just go wrong for some reason. I still don't know what happened...she's angry and I don't even know what the hell I did."

But out of this has come the ambition to write music again, and that is exactly what he has been doing. Johnson along with lead guitarist Robert Kain have been hard at work for the past couple months. Says Kain,

"Johns a tough sun-of-a-bitch man. He put himself through hell for years and now there are people putting him through hell...and thats making him put himself through it again...I don't know but its sad. I'm just glad he has been able to keep his head and not lose it like he has in the past. I think his daughter helps with that. Steph or not, he loves that kid man."

"The writing process for me has been similar to what I have heard Stephanie is doing. We are venting at each other. I have a lot of anger...but mostly confusion. She has anger. Personally I think she has some problems she never wanted to share and instead felt it better to keep it to herself. I was no good as showing it but I wish she would have known I was there for her no matter what she needed from me....She needs to learn to let people in once and a while or she will wind up being a holed up old lady who pushed everyone away...and thats not who she is. It makes me sad just thinking about it...worse because of Helle. This should not have happened."

The Rockers have written 16 songs for a possible future release and officially stepped into the studio two days ago. The band all agreed that they were happy to be back together in the studio environment and that the album would be one of the most ambitious of their careers. Bassist Joey Johnson had this to say...

"When this band gets in a studio for new material we prove why are name is The Rockers. We have caught lightning in a bottle 14 times and we plan on doing it a 15th."

A Report from Johnny Johnson from the studio...

"So we got about 3 songs completely edited, mastered, and just completely finished now. This is a pretty exciting time, we decided that these songs were going to represent us and where we stand in our lives now days and we really wanted to put us in the lyrics. These songs are not about whores or sex like most songs are, this will be an album of growing up and coming face to face with the decisions you and those around you have made.

What gets me the most excited about this release though, is that we decided to just be ourselves. We spent a lot of time there in the 90s and early 00's trying to make music that was different and revolutionary and then we took a break to release "Break Free" which was just a flat out Rockers album like we did when we started out. We just played simply, and powerfully. It wasn't reviewed well but our fans and the band itself always felt that was one of our better releases in the last 20 years or so.

Which is why we decided to go back there and have another go at just trying to make some classic freaking rock music. No frills, just thrills ya know? Robbie is really enjoying just pounding at his guitar again and I think George is enjoying putting holes in his drum-set again. We are being us when we were 20 years old...except without all the drugs and excess of course. ;)

This divorce has been hell and I can't say I've come out better...thats for sure. Doctor says my blood pressure and cholesterol suck and I need to watch my heart but I think going back to this music and just having fun has been good for it. I'm with friends more often than ever before...and when I was with... Miss Fierce, I think I left my friends behind. It got me down a bit and maybe thats what pushed us away from each other.

What ever happens, I just want to enjoy myself again and look up and see smiles around me. No more frowns or smug looks, these guys are humble and easy going. They can take a joke, and they are okay with talking with you. I think I realize a little more every day what was wrong in my marriage...but I still dont think it was entirely my fault. If there is one thing I still wish from God for everyday, its that me and Stephanie could sit down and just talk. I dont think we could ever fix us...but I think we could at least figure things out.

Until then,
Keep on Rocking,
John"

A Different side of the same story...

Robert Kain

"What can I say about this band other than of how proud I am of it. The Rockers have been a mainstay in the music industry for over 20 years. When we came back with our 14th album a while back after our retirement...crazy. Only word for it. I think the music industry has pretty much Fuc*ed itself up by that time but while we were gone a lot of new bands came into being. I dont know if those little shi*s realize how lucky they were that we weren't there man.

Nah, there were definitely some good ones in the group but we came back like a good rainstorm. We picked a great time to come in and it was just one of the best things we have done in a long time. We went out there and staged a brutal fight with The Bards who took a break shortly afterword. I hear they are back now...good man. Us old timers have to learn to wake up and get off our as*es once and a while so that we can prove we deserve to share the air with the kids.

This new album is going to be killer. I like the direction the band has decided to go with. We are going out there and being kids ourselves again. I am 46 years old but in that studio I feel 26 and 22 when I'm on stage. I took a break from The Rockers before they retired you know? I formed a band called The Shadows, and most people dont remember that band but I wanted to play music like the old Rockers ya know? John was doing something different then and I respect it but I wanted back in the Rock world.

This album and the last to a lesser extent are in the mold of music. When this one is released people will know right away its The Rockers, it literally sounds like our first album, "Rock". Dam* good name dont you think? Well it was us at the time ya know. It was how we viewed ourselves then and finally...we are back there.

Look out for a single soon,
Robbie"

"The Shadows were a different deal, they went out there wearing masks and made up some strange stage-names. But they played the type of music that The Rockers started out making. I think Robert and George enjoyed that music more than the sort of folksy...artsy stuff I wanted to do. I hated watching them leave the band but it was mutual. No arguments and no fights.

While they were gone I hired Randy Wilde to replace R.K. and Gary Roberts to be the new drummer. We clicked right away as they were in tune with the style I was going with. I'm glad I got to work with those guys for all those years because it gave me some insight into what a band is supposed to be...so when Robert and George came back I was able to see that I being the front-man was not my job and should never have been. I was the singer and these guys were the musicians. We needed to be three guys not one plus two more.

Gary and Randy are off doing some small band right now, doing good last I heard. I dont talk with them as often as I should especially since the new album started being worked on. They wanted to try their own thing too and I'm just glad that The Rockers could get those two guys their big break.

We have a single getting ready to be released soon as Robert let you guys know last week. I picked one of the more message songs from the album. Its also one of the softer songs, but with us that aint saying much. I wrote the lyrics to this one but when it comes out you will see right away that Robert handled most of the music arrangement. He is a heck-of-a-writer and I just wish he would allow me to force the work on him more often.

Look our for the single on March 29th, 2011,
Keep on Rocking,
John"

A Look from the Other side of the Family

Joey Johnson

"Being in the shadow of Johnny was never an issue with me...there was that believable? Haha, no its been rough. Mainly when we were younger guys and we all wanted the hot chick. Of course they wanted John the front-man. Why would they want the similar looking but older version?

But as time went on I began to see why John was in the light and I wasn't and it was for a good reason. I am the kind of guy that doesn't talk much and would rather just play my song and leave rather than sign a ton of autographs and then chit chat all night long. Luckily that all lead to my marriage last year. It too was overshadowed by Johnny and his wedding, but that is okay. Because I am still married. Haha, don't tell him I said that.

Anyway, I think this reunion has been good for the whole group. We have been living a dream for a long time and never even noticed. Now we are living it, and aware of it and it just makes life...so much better. I remember the days when I was drinking and being stupid and it just doesn't seem like me. I think the car wreck I had was a big wake up call. I mean, it set my eyes straight and my mind right.

John has been a good friend for a long time, he got me through drinking when I needed him and I try to be there when he needs me with his problems with Stephanie and his kid. God Helle. That girl is one crazy cat man. She lights the whole family up...when it was a family I guess. It's sad.

Peace and Prosper,
Joey"

Jay: Our first guest tonight is lead singer of the multi-award winning rock band, The Rockers. Please welcome, Johnny Johnson everybody.

John comes on stage left and sits down smiling in the familiar chair.

Jay: How do you do?

John: Good I hope you too. (laughs)

Jay: You guys have been around a while now right?

John: (pauses) I take it you aren't too familar with us then?

Jay: (laughs) Of course I am, but the audience might not be.

John: Well I think I'm going home man. (laughs) No, we've been around about 25, 30 years now.

Jay: 30 years huh, and you are still releasing new music?

John: Close to 30 yea, and the new album is being finished up now yes.

Jay: After 30 years is it still exciting?

John: I'm excited yes, but I did just take some viagra.

(audience explodes and Jay puts his head on his table as he laughs)

John: Am I allowed to say that on t.v. I dont know man. But this album is very good for me ya know? I am really proud of the direction and the focus of the music here. It's great.

Jay: Yea, I see. You recently were divorced right, previously married to pop legend Stephanie Fierce? Did that play a part in the music?

John: I think it always does play a part. I mean, I heard some guy say...what was it, "If a musician knew how to say what he wanted in words he wouldn't be a composer" or something like that?

Jay: No I dont think so...

John: (laughs) Well oh well then.

Jay: New c.d. comes out when?

John: Well the single comes our March 29th, 2011. Its called The Cammel Through the Needle but the album has not been decided yet.

Jay: I see, nice talking too you.

John: You too.

Jay: Rockers new single out March 29th you got to get it folks, we will be right back.

Single - The Camel Through The Needle

B-Side - All Be Damned

B-Side 2 - Alimony Blues

Johnny - "Well the single here, Camel, is a song basically about the paths in life. Of course the chorus and title reference the Bible but this is not a preachy song. It was just a good reference that fit the mood of the song...it was catchy too. We went with a slow, powerful beat for this one and let Robbie loose toward the end for his little guitar..thing he does."

Robert - "The second song is a re-worked version of an older song that John did while he was with the other guys. It was a very different song then but we put it to that style of music that these four as a group are known for and made a heck of a thing out of it. People will remember it, but think of it as a different song I think."

George - "I liked that song the first time I heard the Rockers2 version. Thats what I call the band when me and Robbie left. It was sort of a call-back to the old style John and us played and so it was perfect for a re-record for the B-Side here."

Pick it up today and let us know what you think.

"We are all excited about the charts these past weeks. #1 is a heck of a feat and we owe it to all the fans who went out there and bought the single. I hope you guys are enjoying it.

The album will have its release date announced soon but first there is something else. A second single will be released soon so you will want to look out for details on that.

We were featured in the latest issue of Chaos Magazine so if any one is interested in seeing what they said about us go check it out. Our blog is the main focus of the article but they really did a great job with it.

Total Annihilation is coming up soon and I am getting nervous. The Rockers were going to play together but some other things came up for the guys. I will be playing alone. I have never really played alone before, I at least had Jack Jameson behind me when me and him formed Savior. This will be an interesting night for me, and my song choices are weighing heavily on my mind. I think I will play some Rockers songs acoustic style, but my sets focus will be on Savior songs and some new ones I wrote recently.

Keep on Rocking,
John"

"I have recently tried talking to Stephanie again...I would have to say that it didnt turn out right. She replied, sort of. I dont really know what to do after that but who knows what will happen. Total Annihilation will be interesting, we are both headlining our respective stages and I'm not sure if we will run into each other.

The second single will be released in two days. There is a lot of information I could give you. I will tell you this though, the next single is going to be one of the pure rockers from the album. The last single was a bit softer and was sort of a meaning song, not this one. This song is balls to the wall and fists in the air rock n roll.

The band is doing well, we are all happy to be getting closer and closer to the release of the album. We are preparing a tour as well. I want this tour to be one of the high points of our careers. I think we have it in us to make this the most exciting tour while also giving 100% at every gig. I want to get around the world and show everyone that we still got the drive.

Keep on Rocking,
John"

This tour is going to be great, the dates are great, the places are perfect...this whole thing will be the best. I think we are all ready for this, its been a long time coming for something like this. The whole band is getting their stuff ready and we will be heading out soon.

OOC: With this tour, I will be going an original in-depth RP for every date...should be interesting.

Touring. It was the major facet of any bands to-do list. Indeed, touring was what any band would base their schedule around as it was the primary way to get to the fans. The Rockers have been on many tours over their career, 14 world tours by Johns count. Still, this one made him nervous. The first gig was in the bands home town, St. Louis Missouri. They had always started and ended their tours here. This tour would be no different.

But I'm older now, he thought.

"Rob I don't know if I can go through with this." John had a gloss over his eyes as they entered the bus.

"Shit man, if you are going to start that again I'm staying home."

John smiled vaguely. Robert had been a good friend for years and it was his hard-ass but soft-heart attitude that John had always liked. He picked up his suitcases and loaded them into the luggage area. The bus was old, most people would scoff at the idea of using such a vehicle as their means of transportation. But the guys had been using this one for years and it had bits of the past all around. The couch on the drivers side still had stains from when Joey had randomly passed out while walking down the hall.

God, that was 20 years ago...

The miles and the journey had always been something special for John and Joey. The brothers spent most of their time in the two front seats taking turns driving. The radio was always on and usually always loud. Nobody complained as Joey changed the channel after a Stephanie Fierce song came on. That's how this trip is different...she's not here....

The fields of corn and skyscrapers barely phased any of them now. It was all just part of a world they wanted no part in. The gigs were what mattered and as they exited the highway onto a dodgy road leading to an even dodgier hotel Gary only smiled.

"You know I think we've been here before."

he joked as they saw the familiar sight of the arch in the distance.

"Once or twice..."

John said quietly as he lingered deep in thought.

The arena was no different than it had been a few years ago, spare a few different graffiti paintings on the outer walls. They passed it as they pulled into the hotel parking lot. The hotel was actually nicer than they expected and definitely a lot taller. The would be on the second to highest floor tonight, in a room reserved for celebrities. They all laughed as they realized they still don't think of themselves that way and remembered how they expected a run-down mess of a room. They would sleep easy that night and no worries would trouble their minds. But tomorrow they would begin rehearsing, and thats where the worries come.
