Chloe arose to fame much earlier this year as one of the most versatile acts in recent times, cosigned by many artists alike when she blasted on the scene with an attitude of "An urban act that's much different than anyone else" seemingly being able to "swim" into many different genre's like it was nothing, yet it made so much sense. She proved this with her debut single "Cupids Twin". Cupids Twin was a relentless dancehall track that soared up the charts into the #3 spot and eventually many figureheads credited the England born diva for reviving Dancehall music in her song. This however was just the beginning for what would be an amazing next few months for the star. Her debut album "Different Elements (Of Chloe)" showed the many artists how versatile she actually was and even did a track with the late and great Miss Vanity entitled "W.T.F" that eventually became Chloe's biggest hit to date reaching #1 and went on to win Best New Artist at the 21st annual IMA's and finished it all off touring with mentor Alicia Lena, ending in early September. Now, she shows us again that she's ready to resume where she left off with her highly anticipated sophomore album.. and the first single "Grand Theft Auto".
It was hard to figure out which lane Chloe was going to go in this time around for her first single. We are sure her album will be filled with many different types of music much like her debut, but we cant prove this. But with a slew of rap songs, hip hops songs, pop songs, and dancehall tracks that this female can maneuver, its hard to evaluate where she will go next.
Grand Theft Auto, which was produced by underground hip hop producer Ramon Omari and longtime collaborators The Wolverines is a slick and unapologetic R&B/HipHop/Pop concoction that fits Chloe beautifully and even adds in massive star Tisha Jackson which places Chloe where she belongs. In Urban Music.
The track stars off with a short recording of police car sirens and helicopters and you could hear running as Chloe screams out "Their coming, lets goooo!". Giving us an instant impression if runnaways, criminals, or fugitives the song starts there as sirens and a very high pitched and beautifully sounding riff is heard along throughout the track with Chloe, unleashing her slick raps talking about being a criminal around town with the person you enjoy being around the most, taking part in a slew of different and dirty crimes...taking a nudge from the the very popular video game 'Grand Theft Auto' and Tisha adds in her seductive vocals that comes in for the chorus as they sing happily about the crimes they committed.
What we like about the track is the powerful riff as well as Chloe's skill of mixing her rapping and singing in one song, making this an heavily addictive addition and a monster track for Chloe that may just have you listening to the track over, and over again. It is also always a treat to get the beautiful Tisha Jackson on a song, making Chloe and Jackson quite the duo of cocky, dangerous and evil criminals getting away from the government and police throughout the track.
What we can say, is that Chloe is back, with a new label and with a vengeance with this fresh strong tune and will most likely reclaim her crown as the talented and top figure in music.
Quote:I love this track! And I just cannot get over how much I love it. Tisha Jackson was also an amazing addiction to the song and when I was writing the song and then recording it, I wanted something really different. I was always a fan of Ramon Omari, and his production isn't really heard much, but I was really a fan so I really wanted him to do production on the song. I told him exactly what I wanted and he knew exactly where to go. I'm like.. I want something dancey....alternative..hip hop but not too underground. I want something different, and that's what he gave me. So I appreciate how amazing of a producer he is. And I'm really happy with the outcome
So here it is..Chloe's "Grand Theft Auto" which will be released this Sunday!
