Didn't know whether to put this in Serious Debate or Off Topic Discussion but I decided that it was pretty serious, and could potentially turn into a debate. So, yeah. This whole thing's a bit of a mess, isn't it?

what the hell is william hague doing wading into the middle of this? Yes i know the embessy is in London, but ffs, he is wanted for a serious crime in sweeden, he has been granted political refugee status in a south american country and the usa wants his blood...

threatening to violate the embassy can and will only have negetive reprocussions for us in the future...

Looks like he is going to be stuck in that Embassy for some time. Can't see how he will be able to leave the country. It's a bloody shambles.

I'm not one for huge conspiracies or anything like that, but doesn't anyone think its a bit of a coincidence that the founder of Wikileaks (website that's already been hacked/all that kind of stuff by multiple countries.) is now wanted for a rape charge? The whole thing stinks of 'smear-job' to me. Not to make rape sound like a small thing but as something to blame someone with its pretty much the optimum choice. Think about it:

Very little evidence for or against.
Essentially two women and a whole nation against one man and a few followers.
Not like murder where you have a victim who's dead or assault (injured) anything that happened would surely be gone by now?

I don't know a lot about the whole situation, but that's just what came to my mind. Only thing is if there wasn't a reason against it I'm suprised Forkboy hasn't mentioned the idea yet. Can anyone clear it up for me??
