Nothing like sitting in the basement endlessly scanning facebook while Shelby and Hana hang out in my room playing the PS3. This marks the first time Hana has come over in the 6 months since I asked her out, and Shelby just came down stairs to inform me that she is miserable because Hana keeps talking about me. Meh, life is strange and this girl needs to get out of my life.

I won 100 bucks at a talent contest where I performed a song in front of nearly 700 people. I saw one face in the crowd. Later she came over and my sister informed me that she kept talking about how happy she was that I had won and that I was the best one who performed. She found a music box that plays a Christmas song and wound it up and tossed it in my room along with a balloon that Shelby had bought to congratulate me..
Two weeks later, she came back. For the first time in nearly a year, we stopped turning our backs to each other and we spoke. We made jokes and remembered old inside jokes that we had between us. She laughed and smiled. I did too. A lot of eye contact was made. But there were silences. Long awkward silences. She kept going into Shelby's room to play on the computer but Shelby would call her back. Finally I offered to get her the lap-top so she could stay in the living room with the rest of us. She agreed. Shelby fell asleep...just like old times. We sat in the living room making jokes. We spoke nothing of the past. It was as if it had never happened. She smiled and she laughed. I did too. Then she left. |

Shelby had four of her friends over for a slumber party. But the longer they were there the more often I found that Hana was looking at me when she told a story or a joke. She asked me several questions about playing the guitar. We played Yu-Gi-Oh again...I lost again... just like before. Also Shelby took pictures of her to use on facebook, I also took one...she currently has mine as her profile pic... As Shelbys friends started falling asleep late in the night it finally wound up just being Shelby, Hana, and me. We went to my room. Something Hana would never have even considered last year, and stayed up until 5 in the morning playing Twisted Metal. I had to teach her how. She kept looking at me... Suffice it to say that I'm either a certified creepy guy who can't give this up, or I just know what I feel. I know something is strange though. Not once have we brought up what happened between us. Within three weeks we went from keeping as far away as possible from each other to exactly how things used to be. It just doesn't add up. Also, I met her mother.
