'A New Beginning' is Electronicore and Post-Hardcore band Storm the Fort's first single. The song ranges from catchy, upbeat trance beats that make you want to dance to brutal breakdowns and screams that make you want to mosh. This single is a precursor to their upcoming debut album, 'The Revolution', which is set to be released on February 21st, 2013 which will be followed by a tour of England with topLADS and Winterfell. The song was written and produced by frontman Jessie Everitt at Abel Studios, where Jessie has been working for the past 3 years. This is the first step for Storm the Fort and hopefully their big beginning. Jessie released a statement regarding what the single is about.

"'A New Beginning' is a song about a really shitty relationship that I was in. At first, everything was great but then she started trying to change who I was. She wanted me to change the way I dress, act, and even my music. We began fighting all the time and I began writing. This song was the direct result of the fight that we had on the night we broke up and that's where the name 'A New Beginning' came from. Something that she would always tell me was that I looked dark, emo, and depressing so I decided to embrace that and it actually fueled my writing even more. Of course, I was still pissed off at her and she wouldn't leave me alone for the next few days and then she began acting crazy. She was telling me she was going to kill herself if we didn't get back together and me, being the great guy I am, told her if that's how she feels then I'll tie the knot in the rope for her. Probably, not the best thing to say at the time but I was pissed and after that she finally left me alone."


Description:
This song starts off with an extremely catchy trance/dance beat and then Kraig starts singing with a hint of auto tune. Then the rest of the band joins in with a rhythmic chugging and double bass that follows the trance beat. The band transitions into the chorus where Kraig and Jessie both sing leaving you with a unique harmony between Jessie's voice and Kraig's auto-tune. After that the song moves back into a harder verse where the trance beat drops out and leaves the band open for brutality. Jessie begins screaming and Gabe really showcases his foot speed on the double bass. The band then cuts out after the verse and the trance beat slowly fades in and takes over. When the band joins back in the trance beat is still leading the song and Jessie is screaming the final verse while the rest of the band matches and enhances the trance beat by adding their own hardcore flavor to it making for one sick ending.
