In the promotional single, Chloe pays homage to her home land whilst she raps truthfully about the struggles and setbacks that she has endured and overcome to get to where she is now. It has been a while since we've heard Chloe delve into full on rapper mode alongside a wonderful, dark, urban beat and we must say that it's been worth the wait. Her previous singles, as great and catchy as they were, didn't really capture Chloe's true character and it seemed like all the fire and passion had died out. Even in the killer comeback single, 'Born Free', there was still the feeling that the beautiful Ms. Smith was holding back and had a LOT more to say. It's clear that she was saving up all that energy for this gem of a track. Chloe manages to tell her story (with references to Isaac Lovelock, Photoshop and Hulk Hogan) without seeming like she's whining on and on like some other biographical tracks that are currently circulating the radios right now. Overall, the song has 'classic Chloe' written all over it; smart lyrics, passionate vocals, killer beats and boatloads of attitude. We know wonder what the album will hold in store? Will it be filled with edgy tracks such like this or will she play it safe and continue down the dance/pop route? Either way, we know it will be great but we are hoping that 'Rap Chloe' is here to stay for a long time to come. 9/10
