Yeah, The Moor is a stunning opener.
Metallica - Blackened is another favourite.
And fuck. The opening song to The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, Blowin' In The Wind. There's also The Times They Are A-Changin' & then Subterranean Homesick Blues AND Like A Rolling Stone.
Those are each my favourite tune on the respective Dylan albums.
Mastodon opening up Leviathan with Blood And Thunder is perfect.
Going to hip-hop I'd say El-P - Tasmanian Pain Coaster from I'll Sleep When Your Dead is awesome. And then you have Straight Outta Compton by NWA. That's a fucking killer opener. |

Although the're two seperate songs, Keeping the Blade and Always and Never from Coheed and Cambria's Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Vol. 1: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness are great. They open it so perfectly, and with Welcome Home directly following Always and Never, you cant go wrong.

The best Boris opener is Farewell Just because there's only one song, doesn't mean it's not a great opener. And actually you are right, Farewell is the best Boris opener, in fact everything between it and the final track I find a little dull. |
