Snakebite is an hard'n heavy band, that recently came out with the album "Wild Life", the band is influenced by 80s hair-metal acts like Van Halen, Motley Crue and Def Leppard, and from the 70s bands such as Deep Purple, KISS, AC\DC, Led Zeppelin....
Incorporating typical features of modern pop, and combinating it with 80s style big guitar riff and solos, theyr music is an energic and anthemic hard-rock with some judas priest influence.
Here's a track by track commentary on "Wild Life" by frontman Nick Savage and guitarist Danny Scarlet from KERRANG! magazine:
Sylvie Simmons :Hi guys, the album is incredible i've been waiting for something like that for...what?20 years?
Danny:yeah thanks and it's just the beginning.
Nick:yeah the best is yet to come baby!
SS:How it all started? i mean the songwritting and the recording..
N:well you have to ask Danny, because he's the mastermind...
D:Before we started writing i was thinking of an album wich is histerya by def leppard, and i remember an interview where joe elliott said "we thinked of thriller by michael jackson, wich is an album that has 6 hit singles, so we asked ourselves: why can't a rock band do it? and there's no reason why...". So we made the same thing but times have changed and now we have Lady Gaga instead of michael jackson...
SS:Cool, so let's start with the listening section
NOBODY RIDES FOR FREEN:This first song, i think it's an istant classic hard-rock song, ya know it's the right song to start a record like that.
D:yeah and it's the opening song of our set-list when we play live.
WILD LIFEN:the title track, wich is also the first single, to me it's the perfect example of what danny was saying before, ya know you can hear direct pop inluences but it's still a kick-ass rock song, it's something big something wrote to be played in an arena.
D:Yeah and i think that this song is the proof that we have achieved our goal.
EVERY HERO FALLSD:That's my favourite song on this record, it's something that i think describe the way of thinking that many people enjoy nowadays, and it's one of my best solos on here...
N:yeah i think that a song like this shows the potential of our band.
ENEMYD:this is a strange song to me, it's experimental in the limits of our kind of music, and james does an amazing job with bass and keyboards also live, because unlike many bands we don'T use tapes live to do choruses and other instuments.
N:same as above.
I'LL CRY FOR YOUN:That's one of the 2 ballads and i'd say the better one
D:it's just a classic power ballad...
REACH FOR THE SKYN:the title of this song was inspired by Van Halen's "Dreams" but i think it's got some kind of whitesnake vibe...something little bluesy.
D:i love the lyrics Nick wrote for this one, ya know it's just like you've got to go for your dreams and reach for the sky..
ANOTHER CRAZY RIDED:this is another straight-up hard 'n roll, there's something better?
N:that's a very sexy song... ya know it's the kind of song that makes you get some bra on stage (laugh).
SHAKE ITN:that's another song with a strong blues groove, there's a story about that song... someone was having sex in the studio while we were recording, but i can't tell you who...
D:yeah that was very inspirational.
HOLLYWOOD DREAMSN:This one is about how dangerous can be hollywood with all of the fake dreams, and opportunities..it's fool's promised land...
D:and that's also the story of one of our best friends.
EYES OF LUSTD:i'll let nick tell you about this song..
N:(
singing)YEAH!YEAH! BABE YOU GOTTA TRUST...AND YOU'LL LOOK INTO THE EYES OF LUST
