Vincent Peters, lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the band Reported Failure recently sat down with Alt Press magazine for an interview. Here is how things went down. (OoC: Questions are in bold)

So tell me about this hiatus that Reported Failure is taking.

I would say hiatus, for lack of a better word. What were doing is relaxing a bit. After our summer of touring Billie, who supplies most of the vocals said he was going to record a solo album. He's doing that and for the most part the rest of us are relaxing. When he finishes we're going to go right back into writing for the next Reported Failure album.

You already have plans for a new album? Can you share any of them?

With all the worlds technology Billie, Matt, Adam and I are always in touch. I see Matt and Adam a lot, and I talk to Billie at least once a week. We are folating around ideas and yes we do have one idea that we all seem to like. I wont give too much away, but I will say this, Flux of the Run was a collection of songs, that were only similar in general sound. Disarm was a rock opera. What we want to do is a very literal sort of non-fiction concept album. Disarm was the recording of a rebellion within the human race, and I love that album, and think it is our best, but we want to do something more literal.

What would you say the most distinctive differences between your three albums are?

Alright, I've Known You was just our album where we wanted to make an album. We had songs, we could perform them, and they were loud and our fans liked them. I wouldn't say the songs are nearly as good as on our newer albums. On Flux of the Run what we did was very different. If you told me to define RF in a genre I'd say the more punk side of grunge, with some, for lack of a better word "emo" thrown in. Flux of the Run is our darkest album, and at times reaches the metal side of grunge. it also has some great acoustic tracks though. On Disarm we got back into more punk. For the most part we set down our acoustic guitars and made a rock opera. i think the message of the album speaks more then the diversity of the music.

In a nutshell Ive Known You is the pop-punk, first attempt, Flux of the Run is the dark album, and Disarm is the loud punk rock opera.

The statement of Disarm speaks louder then the diversity of the music, what do you mean by that?

In a nutshell the statement of Disarm is that you can shape the world you live in, and corruption will fall. All humans have minds that think and mouths that talk, in our ability to effect the world we are equal. The general sound of the album is just a more mature version of Ive Known You, lacking some of the instrumental qualities of Flux of the Run.

Moving on now, you released a live album, tell me about it.

We didn’t plan on doing that until Billie started recording his album. We had some tracks that we recorded live on the tour, and we decided we should give our fans something. We ended up not releasing a lot of info, and making the album an exclusive thing. It has about 18 tracks, and it’s available now.

Do you have any touring plans?

We don’t at the moment. We are going to be on tour at some point next year, but we don’t have anything set in stone.
