From the creators of (well nothing important really) comes the

Using the Royal Caribbean International ship "Majesty Of The Seas", festival masterminds Alex Fritch and James Chipley hope to create both an entertaining and fulfilling vacation cruise as well as a music festival for the ages. With such a great amount of extra curricular activities to do on during your stay, it might be hard to forget that there is still a music festival happening on board! While the number of bands, and the actual line up are currently unannounced, the fest organizers have stated they want the cruise to follow this format:
Quote:- Each band will play a minimum of 1 set during the cruise.
- Each band will get the same amount of set time, which is one hour. More established and veteran bands will play later in the night, however.
- The festival is NOT genre specific. We hope to have everything from pop to death metal to country and everything in between.
- Bands may perform more than 1 set if they please, but it is not required. Many of them may come unannounced and may be spur of the moment. Passengers will just have to keep an eye and an ear open during their time on the cruise!
- Many interviews, Seminars, and Meet and Greets will be happening throughout the cruise. All bands must be ready and willing to give interviews either for inclusion on the festival's website, or for other magazine articles.
So where are all of these artists going to perform? Majesty Of The Seas is equipped with 3 amazing stages, each with their own unique size and feel. They are as follows:
Quote:Pool Stage: Located on the top level of the ship, the main stage is the largest and most equipped stage of the 3. In front of the stage are the ship's 2 giant swimming pools, giving swimmers a perfect view of all the action. The stage is also viewable from the surrounding decks and restaurant balconies. Complete with a state of the art sound board and light system, as well as it's open environment, this stage is perfect for any artist wanting to incorporate pyro, elaborate stage set ups, or other grand ideas into their performance.
Spectrum Stage: Located on the 5th floor, the Spectrum Lounge is almost as if you took your typical concert hall and installed it on a ship. Having a capacity of 1,000, it is the ships 2nd largest stage. The venue has seating near the back, with an open area directly in front of the stage, leaving possibilities for plenty of mosh pits and crowd surfers galore.
The Dirty Bastard Stage: In homage to the infamous hotel and casino, this stage is considerably smaller compared to the rest. Only holding 600 passengers, almost no lighting and absolutely no pyro allowed on this stage, this stage was meant to convey the true club experience. The stage, the band, and the fans.
* Keep in mind that while these are the official stages of Im On A Boat! Festival, artists may schedule performances in other parts of the ship.
The festival plans to run for a week, and the organizers are aiming for the dates of
Sunday, November 28th to Friday, December 3rdMore info will be released in the coming weeks. If you have any questions please email us!
OOC: Ok guys, I thought I'd have a go at organizing a festival. Its just my attempt at bringing some (more) life into this place with something fun that everyone can participate in.
If you have any suggestions or criticisms that could improve the idea, please, by all means, PM me. As far as the festival itself goes, I made it a week long thing, as a way of giving more leniency on RP deadlines and such. You may post your RP at anytime during that week. As far as requirements, there are none really. Thats why I added multiple stages to the ship, so that your may RP this festival however you like. Do you want your aritst playing on the main stage to thousands of fans with a crazy stage show? Go for it. Or do you want to RP your bands secret show playing an all acoustic set at one of the cafes? Be my guest.
The only thing I ask of everyone is that if you sign up, please please please participate. I'd hate to see 20 bands sign up, then only 5 RP their performance. I will be interviewing every band during the festival for magazine style segments on their thoughts of the fest and the cruise, so I would appreciate if you responded to those questions as well once I send them.
So, if you are interested in playing, sign up here. As time goes on and we get a decent amount of artists, I will post set times and all that fun stuff.
Also, if you would like your Record Label, Magazine, etc to sponsor one of the stages, please PM me.
