O2 ABC Glasgow PerformanceNick Sorter, Will Thistle and Mark Thistle step out onto the stage. A small cheer arrises from the small gathering infront of them. Nick smiles, he is just happy to see that some people even turned out to see them. "Hey," he croaks down the mic. He clears his throat and tries again; "Hey Glasgow! We are
Fireworks and we are gonna play you a few tracks here to get ourselves out there!" There is a small cheer from the audience as the music starts playing.
The track is called
Relapse. It starts with Nick's lead guitar shredding through the silence, which is then followed by a drum beat kicking in from some unknown man in the background. The first Verse is sang by Mark, who leads into the chorus. At this point all of the guitars start playing and both Nick and Will join in singing. The second verse is sang by Will, with a slightly harsher sound to it than the clean vocals of Mark. The second verse mainly consists of the Lead guitar with the other two playing more quietly below it. The third verse is sang by Nick; he has a much stronger voice than the other two but it works well with them. On the third chorus some of the audience start to join in. This brings a slight grin onto Mark's face and he looks over at Will who is loving the show so far. The fourth verse is much shorter - about 2 or 3 lines - with only the Bass guitar playing and Nick singing some calm vocals. The track finishes with one last in time strum of all of the guitars.
"That track was called
Relapse;" Nick says, realising he forgot to introduce the track to the audience; "The next track is a slightly softer one; it is called
Lucky Dip!" The crowd give a bit more of an enthusiastic cheer after being warmed up by
Relapse.
Lucky Dip begins with a much more upbeat beat. The first half of the first verse is sang by Nick, then Will's contrasting voice comes in and takes the second half of the verse. The rhythm is very fast and the bass is quite lively. The chorus is very Pop-orientated with a bit of a Rocky influence. The chorus is mainly sang by Mark, with Nick and Will harmonasing and joining in at little sections throughout. The song continues much the same way as the first verse, with Mark heading the chorus. The song ends with, what is looking like it will be the bands signature, the final strum of all of the guitars.
"So do you guys like what you are hearing?" Mark says excitedly into the mic. There seems to be a relatively good level of enthusiasm in the audience.
Will steps up to his mic and looks into the crowd; "Next up - the title track of our EP
In the Twilight!" The crowd seem quite happy about this, as this was probably the first track they had heard from these guys.
A steady drum beat plays - 1, 2, 3 4 5; 1, 2, 3 4 5 etc - and then Will's rough vocals come in and tear into the audience.
"IN THE TWILIIIIGHT!" He shouts into the microphone to get the chorus started. Then Nick and Mark join in. Nick taking over the lead vocals at this stage with Will and Mark backing him. The chorus finishes on a long note held from the lead guitar. The second verse is introduced by the drum beat rapidly increasing - 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 alsmost as one continuous beat. Mark takes the lead for the second verse but it is Will who introduces the chorus again with his very loud "In The TWILIIIIGHT!" Nick goes back onto lead vocals and takes the song through the third verse as well. The song finishes after a third chorus being repeated with the now obvious signature strum.

Nick steps up to the mic after quickly taking a sip from his water bottle; "This track is called
Together (Now or Never); and I sing this one alone apart from some harmonies in the chorus. Enjoy"
A quiet rhythm starts and then starts to pick up pace with the bass and lead guitar playing a calm tune over it. Nick starts his vocals and there is a little cheer from the audience. He smiles as he sings into the microphone; his voice getting louder as the chorus approaches.
"I want to be with
YOUUUUU!Only
YOUUUUU!I can't help the way I feel;
Wanna hold you and know it's real
I wanna be Together!
Yeah Forever!Together - (Now or Never)"
Mark and Will joined in on the bold sections of the above chorus, and Mark sings the bracketed section starting just after Nick starts the last 'Together'
The song finishes after a double chorus at the end and the audience gives them a standing ovation. The audience may only be small but they seem pretty impressed with that song. Only one song to go and the boys were still undecided on which one to play.
Will steps up to the Mic, "For those of you that have heard the EP, we have two more tracks on there that we haven't played tonight. Which one shall we play?
How Do We Go On? or
Never Hurt You? It is up to you!"
After a bit of noise and chattering Will speaks into the mic again; "So give a cheer for which one you want, and the loudest cheer gets the song. So cheer now for
How Do We Go On?!" The audience cheers. It seems quiet loud, it looks as though that track will win, but to be certain Will asks for a cheer for the other song. Their suspisions were confirmed as
Never Hurt You got a tiny proportion of the audience cheering.
"So it looks like the last track of the night will be
How Do We Go On?. Here we go!" Nick says as he starts strumming his guitar once every few seconds to start up the track. Then the drum beat kicks in - 1-2-3-4, 5, 1-2-3-4, 5, etc - from that unknown man at the back again. The vocals start, this time from Mark first. Mark and Nick definately have the best voices, Mark's is very clear whereas Nick's is unexplainable, it is more gruff than Mark's but not as much as Will's, it just makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Nick joins in with Mark on the vocals to lead into the chorus. Then all goes quiet but for the the rough sound of Will Thistle singing his heart out; "HOW DO WEEEE GO ONNN?" Then the other two join back in along with the music again. This seems to have been a live introduction, as it does not sound like that on the recorded version on the EP. But the crowd seem to love it. The song finishes with the signature strum again and the audience goes mad.
"Well thank you for coming to see us! You were great!" Nick says into the Microphone; "We will still be in Edinburgh tomorow, performing at the
O2 Academy, rather than the
ABC! We love you Edinburgh!"
And with that the boys wave to the audience and leave the stage
