It is time to get the Jazz All-Stars back together. After the fantastic debut album bandleaders Tim Dunn and Mike Peck are ready to get the band back together. They have written the music and now need to fill the band up. Players in the first band will have priority in getting into the band. Also, the band will have vocalists for the first time.

"The first album was about playing some great tunes and just finding an audience," said Peck. "Now that we have that audience we are ready to try some new things, time to do some songs with some guest vocalists."

Dunn and Peck announced one track from the upcoming album, a cover of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish."

"The cover is pretty straightforward, but we have made some additions to the arrangement to allow for soloists," said Dunn. "We just need to find a singer who can nail it."

The Band
Percussion:
Drums: Tristan Fuller
Bass: Harry Thornton
Guitar:
Piano/Keyboard/Hammond Organ: Mike Peck
Alto/Tenor/Soprano Saxophone: Tim Dunn
Trumpet:
Vocalist (I Wish):
Vocalist (Jazz Ballad): Ryan Ross Hernandez
Vocalist (Hard Swing): Daniel

Only two people will be allowed on each instrument. The positions are not first come first served. There is no gender requirements for the vocalists.

OOC: Question: so its not exactly a group? Its different members for just an album? Its not a full time all the time group correct?

I'd absolutely love to be a part of this. As well as being a singer, I can also play guitar and piano. I'm willing to fill any of these positions in the band.

-Eric Quillington
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

OOC: It was originally conceived as a group, not full time, but more of a band that gets together occasionally maybe does a few shows and records an album. However, the forum members have left since the original group, and as such there are several holes that need to be filled for the new album.

"Well I'll toss my name into consideration, as a singer and/or guitarist. To be completely honest, I believe that vocally at least, I could perform better than actually playing guitar when it comes to Jazz music. I could probably play guitar on a slow, maybe ballad song, a la- "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" style. Vocals wise, I'm a bit more talented on that end when it comes to Jazz, because I can't sing very high, but I'm able to sing in a lower vocal registers than my common falsetto. I might be able to sing some big band swing but again I believe that Jazz ballads are more in area of expertise."

Yes, yes you can. And I am sorry you didn't make it last time, I don't honestly know why I didn't include a second drummer.

You have the vocals on the ballad my friend.

-Mike Peck

OOC: When I was thinking of what I would want the ballad to sound like "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning" was actually the first thing that came to mind, I love some Sinatra.

Of course, like we said, people who were in the first band have priority in the second.

I would love to toss my hat back into the ring. I absolutely loved playing with you guys (although the album was to blame for Pharaohs going in a decidedly non-jazz direction for a little bit!) and I would love to do it again. I know Xan would love to play piano again and Lex would love to do percussion, which would be the full Pharaohs lineup. They would understand if they didn't get to play, but I will break their knuckles if I don't get the chance to play with you again.

Just kidding, of course, but Xan admits that having him on additional keys might be a bit much. I just totally want to play guitar again for this.

You guys are more than welcome to all play. We can split the tracks so Xan plays on some songs and Mike on others. Glad you are joining us again.

(OOC: I need last names, I know someone is Alexander but I can't remember the others.)

Daniel: Really excited that I'm going to get to do the swing section of this album. It's going to be challenging, so I'm looking forward to it. People who are familiar with me will be pleased for sure.

I see that the spot for Guitarist and for the song I Wish are both vacant, mind if I join in for both?
