Sasha walks into the all white and flourecent beige painted room at Marriot hotel in Central park in Manhattan, New York. She is all smiles with her hands half way crossed on her lap. She has just finished a 3 page magazine spread for New York Magazine. Paying tribute to one of most dearest and greatest inspiration, Maralyin Monroe.

NYM: How was it paying tribute to someone you look up to so much?

Sasha: It was a honor. Something that i will never forget. She was so iconic and beautiful. And it's great to have beaut and talent and had both. That what really makes it so amazing to potray her on camera.

NYM: Well you can identify with her in some ways I guess because having sold 3 million records so early in your career you are known to many like she was.

Sasha: I don't think I am known to people like she was yet. But I will get there one day. I know I will. But I do identify with her in many ways other than that. As we all know she had a issue with addiction, and this is the first time im saying this, (Sasha smiles a big smile), and you have to forgive me, because I tend to smile alot when things get a little rough to talk about. But I have faced addictions of my own as well. Before and after the fame.

NYM: I can understand after the fame because of the exposure to all kinds of drugs but, explain what happened before all your sucess?

Sasha: Well, as many of my fans know, I come from a broken home. My dad ran out and left my mom to raise me. It just left me worrying. I had to pick up the peices. I remeber my mom just screaming and yelling at me for know reason, and she would forget why she yelled at me. But all the anger she had for my dad, she took it out on me. I got so overwhelmed with everything that I had just shutdown. I had to work to help her pay rent while he was off living well. It was too much for me. I wanted out. So I started taking perscription medication so I can sleep through the pain. And this was in my teen years.

NYM: And how have you coped with this?

Sasha: Well as of now it is not a reccuring addiction. But I kicked it when I was 19. There was this night and i'll never forget it. I was out at a club, and I got so used to the sleeping aids that I would have to take 3 of them a couple of hours before I wanted to go to sleep. So I was on my way to a club and I took some so byt time I got home I would be knocked out. When we got to the club I popped some extasy, not knowing it was a lethal combination I passed out and I was knocked out at my friends house for 6 hours straight. And I vowed to never willingly touch that stuff again.

NYM: Have you suffered from any addictions lately?

Sasha: Recently, I would say yes. But it wasn't as serious as the first addiction. After my first album was released I just started drinking myself to death. There was a constant fear of me losing everything Im working for. Never feeling pretty enough because I used to have curves, Never feeling pretty because you have red hair. And simple stuff like that caused me to drink alot. I don't want to say the habit is gone, but Im ina better place, I feel beautiful, and all I say is im okay for now.

NYM: Well, speaking of albums. When are we going to hear new music from you Sasha?

Sasha: Soon! I am working on my third studio album. And it is set tobe released on December 14, 2010. And you can expect a single on October 22.

NYM: How can you decribe this album. And how does it differ from your past efforts?

Sasha: This album is crazy. I have put my heart and soul in it. And I consider it my version on Janet Jackson's Control. It's just
that its a whole new sound for me, a whole new look for me. And it's very dark. Alot darker than my two first albums put togethe. It has alot of rock, with some pop, and a hint of R&B. It's very different and I can't wait for people to hear it.

NYM: Well, we can't wait to hear it as well. And Thankyou for your time.

Sasha: It was my pleasure. Thankyou.
