I'm tired of resting anyway" - Carl MorrissonTwo months after the official announcement of Reckoner's hiatus, guitarist Carl Morrisson along with bassist JPC and drummer Tristan Fuller begin work on their new band. Last week, the trio held online auditions for a new vocalist through their new website named Milo.com (named after the legendary Greek wrestler) after which asking the top ten of the hundreds who have auditioned to go down to their recording studio located in Glasgow. Out of the top ten; Darren Barnett, an 18 year old musician from Manchester, was chosen because of both his cool and energetic presence and confidence. "Darren was different from the other guys, he wasn't great as a vocalist but he was full of energy and fun, that is what we wanted for a vocalist." said Carl. "I never expected to join these guys in a band. Reckoner were legendary and I hope this band becomes even better, anyone can dream that big." says the young vocalist. Carl describes their music as a mixture of Indie Pop and Punkish Funk Rock with a sprinkle of wild beats and heavier basslines. "I want to incorporate that beat driven 60's sound, the 70's funky guitars and fuzzy basslines, the 80's wild attitude, and the 90's image for this new band, I'm positive it would work." says Carl, who assumes the heavy role of lead guitars, back up vocals, and songwriting. "Unlike Reckoner, this band is more of a group work style when it comes to writing songs. I'm not a genius when it comes to making lyrics, but I can make a great riff if I wanted to." says Carl. "Well it's nice that the band has regrouped and are going for a fresh new start. It's a shame that Troy doesn't want to join since he's into more serious stuff while this new band is more for fun and happiness." commented JPC. The band members of Milo are currently adjusting to their vocalist before they begin to write songs and record sometime in December.OOC: Sorry for the bad quality, this RP was rushed.. |

I'm very interested in the future of this new band. The happier music of Milo! seems very different from Reckoner's usual selection, making this a very interesting project. It'll be hard to live up to the hype of your previous band, but I'm certain you can meet it. The best of luck to you guys!
