Trikky and Def Tyme both grew up in the same part of East London, growing up to be good friends. Having had to grow up in difficult circumstances, the boys did not have a very good education and neither did particularly well in their GCSEs – failing to get into and 6th forms or Colleges. Def Tyme grew up with an addict father, which influenced him to go down a similar route – until he ended up in hospital. Since then he has been clean due to the help of best friend Trikky. The boys have been rapping together for a while, and Trikky used to be a producer for underground artists. They decided to try and take the step up to mainstream because they wanted to try and get a message across to the public.
