Im really amped up actually!! VIBE: And you should be, you have so much hype with your name right now. How do you feel about that? Do you feel alot of pressure? ALLURA SILK: Ummmm. Do I feel alot of pressure? Honestly speaking, No. I don
feel alot of pressure becasue I know what I can do and I am very secured and sure of myself. So no, I am very comfortable and happy with all the hype and amp towards my name because I feel like I can handle it.
VIBE: When can we excpect an album?
ALLURA SILK: Im shooting for a March/April release. Sometime in spring. I have just entered the studio. And just began the recording process for the album. So you can expect a single as early and January/February of next year. Everythings coming. I feel like there is no rush. I just want to take my time and make sure that everything is perfect for the fans.
VIBE: So you already have had shots fired at you. From rappers Rel and Shantel Stilleto? Are you guys still beefing? And did you feel attacked by them
ALLURA SILK: You know it's funny because I came out before them. Once I came out they came out months after me and I thought they would be rocking with me because. Im out now you're out, so we have nothing to beef about. But here comes this girl Shantel and she just went off on me and Im a very territorial person. So you can expect me to reply back and I did. Then Rel wants to come and shoot at me a Jay and Im like okay. What's going on. Im not saying that they're jealous of me but why else would you start beef with me because, Who got the record deal first?, Who's recording an album, Who cam out first? Who's on the cover of magazines? Why not embrace that in the hip-hop community. So I really don't have beef with them. But if they cross me the wrong way then we're gonna have a problem.
VIBE: Do you think think people forget where your from?
ALLURA SILK: Yes, I think people do forget where Im from because of the "It's Barbie bitch". Im from Brooklyn. And I am cool, until you mess with me. And then Im like "Stop it now"!, "Stop It"!. Because I will hurt you.
VIBE: Is your real name Allura Silk?
ALLURA SILK: Yes it is. But its spelled differently. It's spelled O-'L-L-U-R-A and my last name is spelled S-Y-L-K. My name O'llura means power and to conquer.
VIBE: Where are you from originally?
ALLURA SILK: I am originally from Trinidad. I lived there til' I was about 4, 5, or 6 years old.
VIBE: Now, we've known you've had a hard life growing up. From your father's drug abuse and acholism and losing your home. How did you deal with that?
ALLURA SILK: My father suffered with drug abuse and alcholism. And he would be so normal and happy when he didn't do drugs and drink. But he would only have one or two sober days of the week. And those other 5 days he put us through hell. He actually burned down the house that we owned in Brooklyn because he tried to kill my mother. And she had a feeling something was going to happen. Big, between her and him. So she sent my brother and I to spend the night at a friends house. And then they ran telling us that something happened to the house. And all I remeber is seeing smoke everywhere. But my mom made it out safe.
VIBE: Is he still on drugs or drinking alchol? And are he and your mom still together?
ALLURA SILK: My father has been clean and sober for five years now. And he and my mom are still together and happier than ever.
VIBE: How do you think the public will react to your album?
ALLURA SILK: I think my fans will understand my music. And I think that the public will like everything that Im doing with my music.
VIBE: So you guys as you can see, Allura Silk is not trying to start any beef. You can expect to here music from her soon. And we will keep you posted on any news concerning her.[color=black] |
