the word POTENTIAL is scary and Monte Carlos is an artist that you realize . Monte has all the tools to be one of the best rappers in the future. When I first heard this “The Prelude” mixtape was coming out I wasn't excited but after l seeing as how good it was I'm an Monte Carlos. After listening to it though……well I can’t say totally satisifed but I'm not great its an good mixtape though.

1. Heir To the Throne – The intro track is pretty nice, the beat is nice and the hook is nice too. Monte Carlos flow was on point as he talks claims he is the new king of the south. The Dallas rapper does lyrical acerobics with easy.

2. Food For Thought – his flow was amazing, I’m convinced this kid isn't just making BIG ridiculous claims. In this song he talks about everything including the state of the music industry to how life changes when you're coming up.

3. Racing Strips Ft. Rel – All I’m say about this is Rel destroys Monte Carlos on a song. Monte Carlos does good on the beat but Rel just came with better lines and substain. The two rappers go back abd forth trading shots at one another as the rap about classic racing cars.

4. She Know, She Bad – This is an great freestyles over Rel's "She know,She Bad" beat. Not only was the flow on point. Monte raps like he has something to prove. With verses like this it seems like he shoulda been on the orginally

5. Mind On A Million – Like I’m surprised this song actually wasn’t that bad, yes it was just okay for like the first 40 second then it actually picked up and got amazing. I don't think I could have been better.

6. In The Vibe – you know when I heard this come on I was 5 seconds away from turning the song off. But I gave it a chance and I was actually surprised that he did an great job of taking an weak beat and destroying it.His flow was CRAZY and the Lyrics was about the best I heard on the tape.

7. Inside My Benz Ft. Trell– Hey it has been the formula for an hit in hiphop for year (good rapper + good singer+catchy hook+memorable lines = Hit ). Its one of the only slow tempo songs on the tape but holds it own among the other songs. R&B singer Trell kills the hook, if you needed me to say that too realize it. Monte Carlos comes hard on this one he brings his A-Game.

8. No Interuptions – This song is ok the first verse is alright. The second verse is the best on the song, the 3rd verse goes to the next level. The hook is pretty pointless and degrades the overall song. Monte Carlos could have done a lot more with this song, I’m disappointed in this one.

9. I'm Thinking Bout Retiring – After hearing the beat I was expecting Monte Carlos to take off on this beat. And I was not let down at all. Best song on the tape by far. With witty and clever wordplay Monte Carlos keeps listeners entertaing

10. I'm Still Me Feat Rel– I’m happy Monte Carlos actually had some substance on this. He bounces back and actuallys out raps Rel on this one. Monte sounds like he is trying to body Rel on this track. I was expecting Rel to put Monte in his place but it didn't happen like that. After listening to this song. I'm convinced that this kid has talent and can be big...just not now he has potential but he's now ready now.
