Recorded: July 2010
Written by: Stephanie F. Johnson
Produced by: Stephanie F. Johnson
Featured Vocals: "The Black Doves" chorus.

2nd Track: “Satan’s Tears" ( titled the same for Diary Entry) is a song written and produced solely by Stephanie F. Johnson. The song was written and recorded in a private studio located in New York. The song was written for and dedicated to her father “Rios”.

The dark concept, was theoretically inspired by the backlash Stephanie received from “Rios” once she ran away an everyone turned against her. Her father who always favored Stephanie (in same inference to God and his most beautiful/saint angel “Lucifer”), felt betrayed and disgusted by her decision. Very evil and what people would describe as “demonic” thoughts crossed Steph’s mind as she cried during her ‘away’ period. She felt like she was placed in a position where she did not deserve to be in so long as she did. A position where no one understood her and made her feel as if she was a mistake. Being a very prideful person that she was, it made it hard for her to face the problem.

She finally understood the perspective of someone who’s looked at as a monster or beast. At that moment of time, you’re suffering and happy thoughts begin to erase. Deep down inside there's something you’re suffering for and people are unable to see that, because they see you as some sort of monster.

As people would think, each tear is a step closer to the bright side. However, it grew quiet for Steph once the tears started drying up. Once the thoughts that were once scrambling in her head came to a halt, when you have no guidance, quiet is not necessarily a good thing because it leaves room to think clearly. Clearly and negatively.

So purposely, the song is written in the form of a suicide letter. The letter gives you an insight look at Steph’s position. The part where she is about to unveil her decision ends the song. Simply because she never finished the letter and faced it. Starting all over. The danger and risk in that situation however, is something to think about.

Before all the critics and religious woo hoo’s start calling Stephanie a devil worshiper. She’s not calling herself Satan, she’s symbolically describing what people saw her as and so far it seems as if Stephanie is taking every bible theme from the “Holy Bible” and applying it to her own personal life.

Once again this next track on track on “Newborn” takes an unexpected turn. The song’s instrumentation is basically a vocal hymn done by one of Puerto Rico’s best choruses “Las Palmas Negras” (The Black Doves). The song is almost completely acapella and doesn’t use any sort of instruments to carry out the track. The only effect added towards the track is drops of water hitting a body a water which substitute the sound of tears hitting.

Organic Sound vs. Using Synthesizers Video

*Suffer Instrumental plays in the background*

Narrator:

In the past Stephanie Fierce has been known for using "synthesizers" to replace or create instrumentation on a few songs. Take the very well known "Dirty Undercover", "Electric Club" and "Toy Soldier" during Stephanie's electronic based era for example. However, in many songs Stephanie did actually use real instruments in songs such as "Hot Shot" (The electric guitars, trumpets, bass and drums), "Love Feels Like Grenades" (the tribal drums), and "Hunter (Bring on the Acid Rain) (military style instrumentation).

The Producers on Stephanie Fierce's Approach:

Nathan (From the Producers)

"The first thing that just....abruptly shocked us all, about the whole “Newborn” project was the fact that Stephanie Fierce entered the studio, and yelled “I WANT NO SYNTHESIZERS!!!!!”.(giggles and continues on excited) I think at that point everyone's jaws dropped. We all were confused. And the thing is that she softly goes on to say. “Thank you, now lets get started“. We just laughed and she looked at us with this dirty look.

Stephanie is no stranger to us, we have worked with her before on one of her biggest hits “Kill The Runaways”. She’s very bossy when it comes to her music and her vision. Which is a good thing. BUT, what that sort of approach basically translated to this: “I want no hits and I am completely out of my mind”. We forgot that Stephanie no longer had to impress the record label because she is now her own boss. We were like you’re Stephanie Fierce, not Johnny Cash. Where do you thin you are going with this missy? And that’s when we were about to hear it from her. .

Everything that is a hit these days is electronic/synthesizers based. We are so used to people coming to us wanting “cool synthesizers“, like the ones you've been hearing in hip hops, that we just didn’t expect it. Music is in a whole another level right now. But, being the open minded producers that we are, we obviously looked forward to hearing what Stephanie had to say and her whole reason to not using synthesizers.

Narrator:

Also, Not only did Stephanie want her sound not to have synthesizers. She also wanted her lyrics that way. So they weren’t allowed to change any of her lyrics, like they were used to doing with other artists. It was a new experience for "The Producers".

Stephanie Fierce on the Use of Synthersizers:

Stephanie Fierce:

"Ok, there are certain sounds that obviously wouldn't make a difference if we synthesized them, but I'm trying to stay away from that as much as possible.

The boys didn’t quite understand me at first but that was okay. I put all of them in their place *Giggles* Just joking. It's not like that at all. But a a lot of stuff goes into the studio that people never know about and this was one of those things that we battled throughout the whole album. I just didn't want a electronic friendly/synthesized composition. I'm sick of it. I want an album that's organic and is able to stand in its true form.

I knew that the guys only know how to play a certain mount of instruments. But that was the whole challenge itself, and that's what makes music making fun to me. Challenge!
I know how to read sheet music very well, so it definitely was something I looked forward to being a part of.

So in the end we all made an agreement. I had to learn how to play the guitar. I already kind of knew how to play though SHHHHHHHH. *Giggles* "

The full song can be heard on "Newborn" (The album will be available for free February 14, 2011). A 35 Minute Film titled "Newborn" (which contains the excerpt of "Satan's Tears') will be released on a DVD that comes along with the "Newborn" CD album.

OOC: Sorry guys but my computer officially died and I'm getting it fixed. All my documents are saved there, so I'll have to wait til it is fixed (which will be in two weeks) so I could post any further track descriptions. I'll get on it once it is fixed though.

"My God! We truly are a talented bunch. The fact that we write entire albums all on our own while the biggest stars in the world have 45 co-writers on ONE track?? Where the hell are OUR record deals and GRAMMYS?" -BrownSugar

OOC: Lol, TRSG is changing and I'm slowly going to get rid of Stephanie Fierce. It's not the same anymore, a lot of people left the TRSG or let their characters die. So I jumped on the train as well. But people don't know.... expect the unexpected in the future ;)
