Behind The Tides Members: Kieran Marks – Clean vocals, screams, keyboards, samples, programming Matthew Broderick – Lead guitar Isaac Steen – Rhythm guitar, sreams, vocals Toby Coyte Broomfield – Bass guitar, vocals Josh Thompson – Drums, percussion Behind The Tides is the reincarnation of former metalcore band Zzzonked. After Zzzonked went on hiatus only days after releasing debut album Crowded Rooms in July 2010, to find new creative influences spend some time apart. In January 2011, the band decided to re-form but without former drummer Andy Hayley, this caused them want a new band name, to suit their new ideas and new motive in the music industry. The band is currently signed to lead vocalist Kieran Marks’ (and Robert Williams of The Verdict Is Vengeance’s) record label Suicide Records, and will start the recording of their first EP, and their debut album whilst under the name of Behind The Tides in March 2011. The band has recieved a fair amount of extra attention due to the nature in which the band has suddenly sprung back to life and killed Marks's former band Lights Go Red who broke up on the day in which Behind The Tides was announced. Behind The Tides is basically a second attempt at the idea which was started with Zzzonked. There has/will be changes from the original ideas that started with the band, as we’ve had time apart and found new influences for different parts of our music. I’m sad to say that Andy Hayley didn’t want to continue his participation as drummer/percussionist, so the current line-up is now myself (Kieran Marks), Isaac Steen, Toby Coyte-Broomfield, Matthew Broderick and new member Josh Thompson.
We’ve already started writing songs for our debut EP which will be titled The World Was Once Ours. The plan for the recording process is to wait until March to start recording as Toby will be on tour as The Verdict Is Vengeance’s temporary guitarist. Once he’s back we’ll record the EP as soon and as quickly as possible so that we can get our music out to you guys as quickly as possible. There is a high chance that The World Was Once Ours will be released as a free download, just so that all our fans can hear our new music and gain us more exposure. All these details aren’t fixed, but are estimations of what is assumed will happen.
