Background & Plot and short movie synopies (first look)

The New Heroes is an upcoming 2016 action film and is based on the novel series Quantum Prophecy. The films centers on realistic depictions of superhuman abilities in the world and the eventual appearance of superheroes and villains. The New Heroes setting is placed in a time a decade after Mystery Day, the day a huge battle took place between many of the world’s superheroes and a supervillain named Ragnarok. After Ragnarok’s battle tank was destroyed in an enormous explosion, nearly all of the superhumans vanished. A few remained, but they had lost their powers, and nobody had an explanation for what happened at the battle or where they all went.

Ten years later, though (where the movie commences) a few teenagers are discovering that they have powers, and things quickly get interesting. Colin Wagner anticipates Mystery Day celebrations with his friend Danny Cooper and other classmates at school. Mystery Day again, is a worldwide holiday that marks the disappearance of superheroes and supervillains after a great battle in Pittsburgh, Pa., 10 years earlier. Later that day Colin and Danny are discussing celebration plans at Colin's house, Danny rescues a girl from being run over by a bus. Danny saves her faster than Colin could turn his head to see the approaching bus. Soon enough, with Colin's super-hearing beginning to function, the boys realize that they are indeed, super human. The naive teens began subtly using their powers around the neighborhood and school and word soon gets out. Danny shockingly gets back in contact with his father "Quantum" after losing contact with him for 10 years following Mystery day or so he thinks. Danny's "dad" reappears one morning when he is on his way to school. Danny shares with "Quantum" his new-found abilities but really Quantum is super villian Façade using his shapeshipfting abilities to obtain information!

Façade relays all the information to his boss and the main antagonist of the movie "Victor Cross" who, beyond his wondrous intelligence wouldn't think any new super humans would be on the rise and it all changes there. Soon, both Danny and Colin are kidnapped in the darkness of night by Brawn, Octavian and Yvonne and brought to Victor Cross's lair where he, the villainous boss demands answers from the teens. Danny also sees his father "Quantum" sedated as he's carried into the facility. He barely has enough time to to absorb what is happening before suffers the same fate of sedation, but for a much shorter time. When Colin and Danny wake up they find they they are being tested and monitored by Cross. After being interrogated the teens cannot provide answers since they are confused themselves and taken aback by the quickness that everything has happened and they are subsequently tortured by Cross and the terrifying Paranoia

However, as this is happening and the teens go missing, there is a general uproar prompting Colin's mother and father [The Titan & Energy who are retired superheros who lost their powers on Mystery Day, to quickly get out of retirement. Things seem to kick into high speed as they contact Max Dalton, leader of the once heroic "High Command" which ran supreme prior to Mystery Day. They contact Max to help in locating Danny and Colin and to finally get answers concerning the dark secrets of Mystery Day and its victims as it all seems to be a blur. More importantly, it is clear a second war is brewing between the villains and superheros. Max Dalton doesn't waste any time, and begins calling on brand new and young heroes that he has spent time training, and calls them on for a their first major mission: locate and save Danny Cooper and Colin Wagner.

Young heroes Renata Soliz, Butler Redmond, Stephanie Cord, Roz Dalton, Joshua Dalton and Mina locate Victor's lair and attack and save Danny and Colin, prompting the first attack and an initiation of war! Victor Cross's plans to take over the world are slowly becoming grim, especially with the rise of The New Heroes led by Danny Cooper - who now yearns to save his father from the grip of Victor Cross and his villians and enact revenge for what they have done.

Will the New Heroes with the help mentored by the High Command be able to get the answers to secrets they've been wanting for 10 years and most importantly save the famed Quantum? Best believe Victor will NOT go out without a fight as he uses his massive intelligence to outsmart and deceive The New Heroes with his group of evil villains who will stop at nothing in protecting Victor.

Casting
Lionsgate opened up casting to actors and actresses in September of 2014 both young and old to audition for parts in The New Heroes. After thousands of auditions it was announced on August 29th, 2016 that Aaron Styles was casted to play as Danny Cooper and actor Evan Espinoza (who will be making his big screen acting debut) would be playing the role of "Colin Wagner". All other roles are set to be announced in the near future.

Production and post production
Pre-production for The New Heroes began in September of 2014. Filming for the movie began in late November of 2015 and production wrapped up in December 2016. The film is currently done filming and post production rap ups were made. The movie will be released on JUne 25th, 2017.

Soundtrack
Lionsgate confirmed that a soundtrack is currently in the works and will be released around the same time as the movie.

The 'New' Heroes

Danny Cooper [Casted] - The main character of the movie. The exact nature of Daniel ("Danny") Cooper's heritage is currently classified, but it is believed that he is son of Quantum. Danny has light skin, brown eyes and brown hair, and is tall and thin. Like his alleged father, Danny has the ability to move at incredible speeds, and even - it is rumored - pass through solid objects. Of all the New Heroes, Danny is the most well-known and popular, although is has been speculated that this popularity has been artificially generated: once his identity became public it was decided that Danny would become the public face of the company, thus helping to shield the team's other members.

Colin Wagner [Casted] - A major protagonist second to Danny Cooper in the movie, Wagner has incredible superhuman strength and hearing. His best friend is Danny Cooper. He is the son of Titan and Energy, (former superheroes who lost their powers in the fight on Mystery Day ten years prior) inheriting both of their strength and powers. When Colin Wagner's identity as the son of Energy and Titan was made public, he was forced to leave his old life. Colin is the only known child of two super-humans, so there has been much speculation as to the nature of his abilities. He is certainly very strong and fast, but as he is still only in his teens, it is possible that his powers will change in the coming years.

Renata Soliz (aka Diamond) [Uncasted] - Diamond is extremely strong, and has the ability to transform herself into a crystalline statue: in this form she cannot be harmed - but it does have the drawback that she's unable to move. The eldest of Maria and Julius Soliz' three children (the others being Samantha and Robert), Renata has black shoulder-length hair and dark brown eyes. Although Renata is physically 17 years old, she was born twenty-four years ago: during her first major mission - the final battle with Ragnarök - Renata was "frozen" into her diamond form, where she remained, unaging, until her awakening ten years later.

Butler Redmond [Casted] - A young man who has the ability to produce a telekinetic force field. He is the least popular of the New Heroes due to his obnoxious behavior.

Stephanie Cord [Uncasted] - The daughter of the armored former superhero Paragon, she is well trained in martial arts and is capable of piloting his jet pack. She is a member of the new heroes and is a leader in their armored division. She is in an on and off relationship with Danny.

Joshua Dalton[Uncasted] - The youngest of the Dalton siblings, Josh joined The High Command when he was only fourteen years old. Though his telekinesis was less powerful than that of his sister, Roz, Josh's mechanical and computer skills proved him to be a very valuable member of the team.

Roz Dalton [Casted] - When she was eleven years old, Roz Dalton discovered that she could move small objects just by concentrating on them. As she grew older, her powers also grew, to the point where she could easily flip over a moving truck. Of the three members of The High Command, Roz was the most private: while her brothers had very public lives, Roz kept out of the spotlight and always tried to avoid public gatherings.

Mina [Casted] - A hero and biological sister of Yvonne. She is considered quiet and shy, but she is later revealed to be controlled by Yvonne. She has short-range teleportation and incredible strength.

Backgound Heroes
(These are important, but retired, former hero characters that do play a vital part in the movie)

The Titan: [Casted] As with most of the other superhumans, Titan's powers developed when he reached puberty. When he realised what he was becoming, Titan knew that he had to fully embrace his destiny; an idealist, he believed that his powers were a gift not only to himself, but to all of mankind. Titan saw the world in very black and white terms; there is good, and there is evil. In his late teens, Titan first encountered Maxwell Dalton, leader of the High Command. Dalton initially invited Titan to join his group, but their partnership didn't last long; the High Command did things very much their own way, and Titan was too inflexible to adjust his methods. Regardless, Titan and The High Command remained in relatively close contact, occasionally working together.

Energy [Casted] - Energy first discovered her abilities shortly after she spotted her father absently creating an electrical arc between his fingers when he was repairing their car and wanted to test a component. Her father's abilities were relatively weak, but as she grew into her late teens, Energy's own powers expanded; she learned how to create powerful lightning bolts and direct them with great accuracy. Not knowing where to begin "superheroing", she travelled to Manhattan to seek out Max Dalton; under his guidance she began her career as Energy, and soon branched out on her own. She lost her powers 10 years prior to the beginning of the main story; revealed to be the mother of Colin Wagner.
Costume: Energy has had several costumes; her first was primarily white with lime-green bands at her wrists, neck, abdomen and calves. Realising quickly that a white costume only helped to make her a target, she soon adapted it to charcoal grey.

Max Dalton [Casted] - The eldest of the three Dalton siblings, and leader of The High Command, Maxwell Dalton had the ability to temporarily take over people's minds, controlling them through a form of telepathic hypnosis. This ability didn't work on everyone, and its effects varied from person to person. Max's limited telepathic powers allowed him to - at times - understand what others were thinking or feeling. He was able to use this ability, and his natural intelligence and business skills, to forge a huge business empire.

Quantum [Uncasted] - Danny's father. He was driven insane by his precognition and as a result his civilian identity was replaced by reformed shapeshifting super villain Façade. Quantum's powers began to appear when he was a young teenager, but they developed so gradually that he was almost into his twenties before he realized that he was a superhuman. Though he possessed incredible speed, it is believed that Quantum's physical strength wasn't that much greater than a normal human. Much later Quantum began having visions of the future which made him unstable.

Villians

Victor Cross[Casted] - The main antagonist. He possesses the power of superhuman intelligence and is the leader of his Cross Agency stable. Victor Cross has a lot of power over his colleagues and has built an evil monopoly by manipulating his counterparts.

Eva Laurie [Casted] - Cross's personal assistant. She has the ability to replicate herself and so takes on all of Victor Cross's secretary work. She also uses her replications to get involved in battles as well. Looked at as Victor's "lackey" she lives and dies by his word and would give her life up for him. This is mainly because he has manipulated her, and all her replicas.

Yvonne [Casted] - One of the main antagonists and biological sister to Mina. Yvonne has enhanced strength, and an enormous IQ. Victor Cross liked her smarts and so trained her to be evil and ruthless and is Victor's "go to" villian. Easily carrying out all his acts of danger as she is agile and very strong.

Jacob Adams (Brawn) [Casted] - One of the few superhumans to undergo a permanent physical change, Brawn was over six feet tall, completely hairless, with dark-blue skin. It's widely believed that Brawn had sub-normal intelligence to match his ferocious temper, though some experts maintain this was a media-created fallacy and that Brawn's intelligence was at least average. Regardless, it is said that he would occasionally show compassion to his intended victims. As a super-villain working on his own Brawn never had much success, and spent more time in prison than out of it. However, once recruited by Victor Cross to take out the New Heroes, Brawn finally moved into the big leagues.
Tall male, older teens - twenties

Façade [Casted] He could change his face and body-shape to appear like any other human: his disguises were so perfect that - it was said - he could transform himself into your best friend and you would not be able to tell the difference. Façade first came to prominence when he attempted to steal a large sum of money from a televised charity event: he'd disguised himself as one of the musicians scheduled to appear on the show. It is unknown whether Façade's shape-shifting was limited to human forms, but there are rumours that he once transformed into a giant eagle to escape capture.
Older male

Octavian [Casted] - Little is known about Octavian accept for the fact that he is the Youngest member of the Cross Agency and is not the strongest of the group. Originally not apart of the Cross Agency, during the movie Octavian turns his back on Max Dalton and helps out the villians and so is rewarded and hired by Victor. He posses excellent agility and has the power of healing/regeneration but his healing and regeneration speed is relatively slow and needs work.
Young male, teen, or early twenties

Paranoia [Casted] - Physically, Paranoia is not only the weakest member of The Cross Agency, it's also likely that she was the weakest known superhuman. However, Paranoia has the ability to remotely induce extreme feelings in others: (ex: suddenly make enemies flee in terror, or to simply stop fighting in the belief that all was well) It was this single ability that makes her part in The Cross Agency so important: very few superhumans could resist her power. However, Paranoia is not often used as each time she uses her abilities, it drains her psychically and emotionally so Victor Cross only commands her when he needs her.
Costume: A dark, heavy, full-body cloak enabled Paranoia to hide from her prey; often only her eyes - which glowed when she was using her power - gave away her position.
