"GOOFY" is the song release by rapper, singer and songwriter Payton Rodriguez set to be released on May 25th, 2020 as part of Payton's album "Payton Season" which is set for a summer 2020 release. "GOOFY" will serve as a promotional record for the album through his own record label La Familia and sees the rapper return to his fiery Latin roots.

Prior to the release of "GOOFY", Payton has been recording new music and hit the studio with Arab Beatz and they recorded a track entitled "Anarchy". The song was pushed back so Payton could enter Celebrity Big Brother, a reality TV show that he eventually won. Just a day after winning, on July 29th, Payton release Anarchy, which was a boastful rap record that saw Payton get back at all his haters in a fiery chain of Latin tinged metaphors where Payton is both playful and serious. Payton's "Anarchy" proved to win over the fans and the song reached #1 on the charts, giving Payton his first solo number one single, but second over all, after topping the chart in 2016 with At The Top, another track featured on the upcoming album "Payton Season".

However, the success of Anarchy did not stopped Payton from releasing new music as he continued to rev up to drop his anticipated album. In the summer of 2018, it was announced that Payton would be releasing another track on almost a month after Anarchy was released. On August 23rd, a teaser image ready "Payton"/"All Ah Dat" was revealed via twitter with Payton cleaning up his signature look, which is usually sunglasses and urban wear. The Latin-tinged club track become a top 3 record and earned Payton two songs within the top 5 of the Chart Heat Singles chart. In January of 2019, Payton was featured on a Suzie's #1 single, "Dirty Little Things and then one year later featured on Brittany Knox's "Faces", which also reached the summit of the chart. With the latter going #1, Payton dethroned MattY as the male rap artist with the most #1’s on the singles chart since “Faces” reached the summit. Payton has so far amassed five number one singles with chart toppers Suzie’s “Dirty Little Things”, “Anarchy”, “At the Top” and Carmen V’s “Do It Right” and Brittany Knox's "Faces".

"GOOFY" adopts a darker, drill-like production that features two minute and 55 seconds of spit fire rap, in what could be looked at a banger with freestyle vibes. Payton's rap flow is one that is particularly special on this song, as it has a latin-tinged influence on it that mix well with a drill production. Over the hauntingly raw beat, Payton name drops Suzie, Levi the Legend, Celebrity Big Brother and Bruce Lee. The record was produced by AXL Beats, a London based producer, and samples lines from legendary film "Scarface" film main characters Manny and Tony Montana at the end of the song while the eerie beat moves slowly over their voices at the end. Before a loud gunshot is heard before the song breaks into a Drill infused mix up with the beat. Payton sounds unapologetic as his flow moves steadily yet aggressively over the beats while he raps. The fiery chorus is then sung in Spanish before the outro of the track.
