BACKGROUND & INFORMATION

15 Years of Symphonies: The Best Of is the first greatest hits compilation album from British singer-songwriter, Michelle Green. It is due to be released in November 2025 via La Familia Records. The release follows a twelve year gap between her last studio effort, "Live To Tell" as Green entered an extended hiatus from all musical activity for an indefinite length of time. "15 Years of Symphonies: The Best Of" serves as a "gift" to fans, with Michelle acknowledging their patience during the ongoing wait for her long-awaited fourth studio set. The release also coincides with her 15th anniversary of working in the music industry, marking 15 years since the release of her debut single, coincidentally titled "Fifteen" which Green also released at the same age. The compilation serves as Michelle's first album release under the La Familia umbrella as her time with Kaleidoscope Records in the mid-late 2010's proved fruitless.

"15 Years of Symphonies: The Best Of" chronicles the evolution of Michelle's career from 2010 up to the present day. The track list is a chronological listing of each and every one of her official singles released from her past studio album; "The Voice of Me" (2010), "Exiled" (2011), "Live To Tell" (2013) as well as 2022's standalone single "Cry Right Now". The only official release omitted from the compilation is "Shooting Star", a 2010 single by Green's ex-boyfriend Matt Young, formerly known as MattY, in which Michelle serves as the guest vocalist on the chorus. Each song included from Michelle's first three albums has been digitally remastered for this release, bringing more cohesion to the full listening experience and restoring classic chart hits in the process.

Across the album, Michelle ranges from a vast array of genres from everything from "folktronica" to hip-hop. Throughout her time in the industry, Michelle has garnered acclaim for her "chameleon" like nature, adapting to multiple different styles of music while excelling seemingly effortlessly as she has experienced great success across all of her projects. Critics have noted, however, that despite releasing a cacophony of eclectic songs such as piano-laden ballads and EDM club music, Michelle has always managed to maintain consistent throughlines within her works, namely her penmanship and impressive vocal stylings, seldom alienating fans whenever she decides to make an artistic switch. "15 Years of Symphonies: The Best Of" delves into the many pockets of Green's artistry and stark reinvention.

Three brand new tracks were chosen by Michelle for inclusion at the end of the album; "Modern Love", "Should" and "Thirty". These new recordings were specially selected for the compilation as Michelle believes they work well with the "eclectic" spectrum of genres explored across the album. Green wished to include new music within the album, stating that fans have waited "long enough" and that it would be "rude" to release a collection of previously heard songs with no added benefit. Michelle also indicated that the three brand new songs will give listeners a taster of what is to come as she works on her fourth studio album.

COMMENTARY

Prior to the release of the album, Michelle took to her official website, writing a blog to formally announce the arrival of the compilation.

Kittens! All these retrospective blogs had to be leading to something, right? Hehe!

It is with great pleasure that I can finally announce the release of a brand new album! My first ever greatest hits compilation "15 Years of Symphonies: The Best Of" is coming your way in October! Ahhhh! I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate 15 years within the music industry. 15 years since...Fifteen! This album is a retrospective of my time within the business, chronicling every single release from Baby Chellie's debut to where we are today. To give you a taster of what I've been up to as of late, I have included three brand new songs; "Modern Love", "Should" and "Thirty"! I can't wait for you to hear them and I think it's only right to give you some exclusive and fresh material to sink your teeth into alongside the old tracks.

It has been quite the journey getting to where I am today. When I signed my first ever deal with Junction Records as a schoolgirl, I could never in a million years have envisioned what would lay ahead of me over the following decade and a half - highs and lows included! This compilation is a long overdue thank you to everyone who has stood by my side over the years. Your loyalty and patience has been unwavering and appreciated to a capacity that absolutely transcends all words and sentiment. I'm well aware that it has been quite some time since I have shared new music and a project with you. For that, I am truly sorry. I had always planned to step away from the industry for some time but it was never intended to be this long of a gap! You know how life goes. One minute you're studying for an English test, you blink and suddenly your lower back is aching and you're reminiscing about "the good old days". Eek!

"15 Years of Symphonies: The Best Of" also hosts completely remastered tracks. This isn't just a hits project that was thrown together. I would never do that to my Kittens! A whole lot of time and dedication has gone into meticulously remastering the older tracks and the new songs have been specifically tailored and curated to sit perfectly alongside their older sisters on the album. Many of you are probably wondering if this is all you're going to get before I disappear for another decade. Thankfully, I can confirm that this is not the case and that I'm in the midst of creating a brand new studio album for you all! All of that in due course, however. These things take time and it's not something I wish to rush. The next album will be ready when it's ready. I couldn't let this special anniversary pass with no new music to celebrate, however, so I hope you enjoy the little teasers of what is to come on this greatest hits album.

The musical landscape and the face of Chart Heat has changed drastically and multiple times over since I last dropped an album. This is an incredibly exciting time for me! Once again, I thank you all for your years of undying support and I hope you'll all enjoy this new record!

Much love,
Michelle
