So which is it, a made up disease that is used handily as an excuse for poor spelling and lazy proof reading. Or is it a real problem for thousand of people?

Solutions, opinions etc etc..
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:
Oh you know, hunting elephants

I don't think is made up, but I agree that some people may take advantage of it.

It's one thing to have dyslexia, it's another to make it an excuse.

so what your saying is that while yes people have dyslexia, and it is a real problem.... They can't say they have dyslexia and that is why they have problems with spelling worlds or getting words mixed up... or being slow when it comes to reading.. or having appaling handwriting that is illegible to anyone else, because that just makes it an excuse?

It's like autism, an excuse for lazy students.

OK, I don't actually think that.

Dyslexia is real, but like bipolar disorder and Asperger's syndrome, everyone on the internet claims they have it.

I mean I get why people on the internet claim to be dyslexic, because they are lazy and don't want to chat, Aspergers because, I dunno, they have excuse for their anti-social ways, but bipolar disorder? Odd. I mean it's a bizarre and seemingly thoroughly unpleasant thing to do deal with, that's pretty rare, even compared to other mood disorders.

But then people on the internet are bizarre.
