Andrew, Brandon, Nick, and Zach sit downInterviewer: Thank you guys for sitting down with us with short notice.
All: No problem
Interviewer: Now I know you guys are expecting questions about the recent controversy swirling around about your band. First of all, why did you guys decide to pull out from all interaction from The Birdies?
Andrew: Too be honest, we truly don't care about the awards. We started this band because we love music. That truly is all. If we wanted to be recognized as just an band who show boats with a trophy, how are we truly going to be able to show are true talent? It's not like we hate the ceremony. Brandon is actually going with the Jazz All-Stars to help support them if they get nominated for best collaboration.
Interviewer: Brandon, what made you decide to go and support them instead of pushing your band mates for The Birdies?
Brandon: I can't force my ideas on people who I don't know that well. I mean those people support that awards show greatly and I do not want to seem like the jerk who takes away what others want. Heck, I would do the same things for the people in this band if they truly wanted it.
Interviewer: Now there has been a tremendous stir around your recent decision. Many which has undoubtedly showed interest in seeming upset by it. How do you take the criticism?
Zach: Well I know it has been tough. Until recently, we really have a problem with anyone nor anyone with us. We were just the newcomer was trying to put their name out. We still are by some instances. However, for the longest time we decided to keep peace and went on to trying to be successful. Recently we decided to speak our mind on things. We saw The Birdies and from the way we saw it, we just didn't like the feel of things. We knew we were going to be pushed to be apart of the advertising shown by our record label, so from there we decided to send out a press release before we would get talked into it. We didn't know we would be called "a publicity stunt" or "drama queens" by it. I realize that criticism will come to any decision with people in a spot light. Ether way we spoke with our minds and we mean what we say especially when we say that we just love music for the interest of music. That's all this band is for.
Interviewer: Now just today the self-renowned "Queen of J-Pop" Yumi called yourselves out on the decision to step away from the ceremony. She even said and I quote that "it's a poor attempt at generating publicity" and that "The Voyd is more concerned about establishing themselves as a legend." How do you guys react to that?
Andrew: I actually read the interview today and I kinda feel that this truly upsetting that miss Yumi thinks that. I mean I'm sorry that 4 guys do not want what a girl has wanted for so long. I mean I know it sucks to not get something you worked hard on but don't use this as an opportunity to hold a pity party for yourselves. Also for the clarification on us trying to reach "legend status". We do not care by no means about reaching that peak. We are using this as a way to work on something that will hopefully reach further out to the community then spending time on selling ourselves for The Birdies. If she thinks we have already lost touch and we have lose respect and recognition from our peers then she is way out of line. We let our music our talking. That is how we get respect. Not from awards.
Interviewer: Now you guys said that you are working on something that will reach out more people than ever before. Do you want to clarify on things?
Andrew: Well we are working on an album that we will shake people's ways on how they think about us. So far we are about halfway complete and we confirm it here that Tisha Jackson will be doing a song with us as well as a legend that we are excited about. However, we aren't giving much info out for many reasons right now.
Interviewer: Well thank you for your time guys for coming out and being interviewed.
All: Thank you.
