Big haired hard rock is coming back and Snakebite is the band who's leading the revolution, theyr album "Wild Life" reached number 25 in the charts and it's still fightin in the top 40, "but that's just the beginning" says bass guitarist james raffaello "we're goin' to headline our own tour, and we''ll show everybody what this sleazy motherfuckers' band can do!".
So we wanted to see what these motherfuckers can do and we went to the warm-up show at the whisky a gogo, the legendary club that gave birth at bands such as motley crue, guns n roses and van halen and has been the first important stage for bands like alice cooper, the doors and the first american stage for led zeppelin and others!
When i arrived in sunset boulevard i was shoked by the number of people with spandex leppard pants and bandanas that was trying to slip in the club, when we finally we were able to enter, the band shoot some photo for the magazine and had theyr very first press conference, but the only thing we heard was what nick savage said when they were leaving to get ready for the show: "i'm so scared that i will be playing in a 20'000 sit arena in something like 9 or 8 days, that i think i'll shit in my pants..."
So when finally came the time for the band to perform the lights went out and the opening riff of "nobody rides for free" started melting our ears, the band came out running and jumping all over the place and encouraged an already loud sing-along.
"Nobody rides for free" was immidiately followed by "shake it" where James Raffaello and Tommy Sneider uleashed a terrific rythmic section upon the crowd making sure that people outside the club could hear perfectly the band's performance, but Danny Scarlet' s solo was the cherry pie, while singer Nick Savage felt ease on raunchy and bluesy vocals, as well as on high pitched notes and at the end of every song bombs exploded like we were in trench. After "shake it" nick told to the audience "we're very happy that you're here tonight, and i'd like to thank you for making us more succesfull than we could ever expect, we're proud to be your band and i hope you're proud to be our audience, and i promise you that tonight nobody will leave this fuckin place withouth have witnessed the best show they could, Danny..." and Danny Scarlet started playing the opening arpeggio from "every hero falls" then Nick started singin' the line:
"I can't stand be in the spotlight don't like it I never have
the mirror reflecting the street light
in the gutter that's where I am"

And everybody started clapping his hands and the chorus, to me, was just the most emotional part of the show :
"heroes are forever but they all die young
(is this the chart of my illusion)
every hero falls and i'm fading out of line
(is this the heart of my confuion)"

while Danny delivered sleazy guitar riffs like the guitars wanted to sing with the crowd, and James delivering an awesome performance on keyboards and bass pedals.
At the end of the song nick presented the next song by just saying "that's another serious one", and they played "enemy", a good song, but nothing to do with the previous...
After "enemy" the band played 2 covers: the first one was "Poison" by alice cooper, the second one was "wild side" by motley crue, and when Nick started singin' "kneel down ye sinners to streetwise religion..." people went completly nuts (me included).
After the covers Nick said: "Ok i think you know this one, that's the new single, and title track of the new album..."and the audience yelled "WILD LIFE", "I can't here ya"
said nick and the audience answered again with a louder roar, so the band started playing "Wild Life", wich featured also an extended solo by Danny and big pyros, and went thruogh "Eyes of lust" (another huge sing-along) and "Reach for the sky", at the end of the song nick said: "goodnight", and the band left the stage but the audience was already screaming for the encores.
When they came back nick said: "so...someone's enjoing the show?" and the audience roared back in assent, they played "i'll cry for you" and everybody stuck out is lighter, and ended the show with an awesome version of bon jovi's classic "you give love a bad name"
The show was amazing and enjoyable even by someone who doesn't love the band or the genre, before leaving the stage Nick reminded us to buy the merchandise and the album...
so if these are the purposes we can expect a long and succesfull carreer by snakebite!
