The manic prog metal masterminds Mind are going to embark on a headlining tour... destroying the Americas! Although no official dates have been set yet, they’ll trek throughout Canada, the U.S.A and multiple South American countries, including Jason’s homeland; Ecuador. It’ll be an epic journey, with the Cambridge-based band performing hits spanning throughout their 4 albums; soon to be 5.

Of course, to do this, they’ll need supporting acts. The alternative metal group Dormant Fusion have been rumoured, but nothing confirmed yet. Other smaller, American based bands have also been rumoured to be involved, but most of them have recently been dismissed by both the bands and Mind. Are you interested in becoming a supporting act for Mind? Don’t be afraid, we don’t bite! You can be alternative, punk, metal or experimental, as long as it has a hinge of rock or prog about it. We’re not fussy.

Mind have been known for their eclectic and enigmatic live performances, often bringing props and acts onto the stage such as dancing clowns with cattle prods and robot-controlled guillotines. Of course, all this doesn’t distract from the brilliant music, with enough balance in melody and heaviness to create a perfect blend of progressive music. It ranges from the slight hinge of pop on The Aeronaut, to the sweeping epics such as My Fall from Grace to the absolutely crushing heaviness of Human?.

Very little will be left of the silent mind... let battle commence!

OOC: Didn’t have time to write a full thingamabob... but this’ll do for now.

Joining Mind...

Thrash titans Hellspawn, a band who need no introduction. They are currently releasing an album, Merciful Death, and lead singer of Mind, Jason Smith, is known to be an avid fan of them. They will tear up the stage, before Mind go on.

Jason: "We feel honoured to have such an experienced and amazing band supporting us. Everything Hellspawn has done is brilliant and I think Mind fans will absolutely love them. They'll probably upstage us!"

Before Hellspawn go on, a relatively newer experimental metal band, Seventhsign, will perform. A band that Jason Smith promises will "be one of the best hopes for metal" in the future, the Canadians will be in support of their new album in the works, Paradise Denied.

Jason: "Coming from an experimental band myself, I can safely say it isn't easy making it big. However, I can tell you that these guys certainly will. They are a brilliant prospect and I recommend them thoroughly."

And going first is a band that Jason has already become acquainted with... his little brothers alternative band Dormant Fusion. They are a new band who are about to release their first self-titled album. Already with an Airplay chart hit, with Brothers of Cimmerian, they'll be looking to expand their fan base.

Jason: "Damien is a great musician. Hopefully, he can make it lucky like I did! Mind and DF have quite different sounds. Although mainly metal, they can be a bit more "arena rock", if you will, so I think the crowds will like them."

Dates to come tomorrow.
