Chimera were the surprise headliners last night, as it was announced 2 hours before the doors opened!

The whole lineup dropped one place as Chimera played a surprise 45 minute set to a crowd that sold out on the door!

Altough many fans were dissapointed at the last minute announcement, the one that got in were certainly not!

Review here:

Altought half of the crowd didn't even know Chimera were playing, there was a great buzz as the lights went out and the screams started, the quick change over of the backline meant a 15 minute break, enough time for people to get back their breath and energy which they needed for what wa about to hit them.

So when the lights went out the noise done the exact opposite, with Chimera already hidden at the back of the stage they slowley made their way on with new drummer James coming on just before frontman Dan makes his, what looks like a late arrival on stage with the usual Chimera greeting 'GET THE FUCK UP CARDIFF', before kicking straight into a run of three song, all being off latest album This Concept, the boys opened with Hours Are Running Out, followed by Collateral and just before the first break, Into Ashes. Chimera took the time to thank all the bands, before the first circle pit of the night was opened for Our Lives In Fire, a song which Dan described as
'The best song from the shittest album ever made.' Even if he does say so himself.

The band took the time to even go into their early stuff, which even though being a different genre, and being under a different name than they are now got an amazing reaction, the title track of their debut album, Confessions before heading back to the new stuff with best selling single This Concept, they then played the last single off their 2nd album Tomorrow We Die, Bloody Mary before an unheard interlude the band had never done before, people thought it was a new song, untill it gradually lead into Mr Dark

The band announced that the next song they would play would be on their new album that they didn't reveal the title of, but they said it would be the first single that's going to be released early next year, before mentioning the two newly announced UK tours, they played brand new song Blood Diamond, which the merged with Route 69 before the lights went off, and the band couldn't be seen, altough they were still on the stage.

A farmiliar audio was then played over the PA, it was the intro to their first ever album, but before it was finished was taken over by a breakdown so heavy, even the people in the pits couldn't keep up. the drums then set off one of the last songs, The Journey being the first, and their final song, the song that opened their current album This Concept, City Of One Million Lights

The band went off to a roar of the crowd who really did want more, but becaue of curfew time, couldn't have more.

After talking to the band they said their new single 'Blood Diamond' would be released in February.
