According to a representative from camp, Rel's condition has been upgraded from critical to stable, although he is still heavily sedated.

The Atlanta rapper was badly hurt in a severe shooting Thursday afternoon, when he was leaving an shopping mall with three friends. Today, one of the people there — Kevin Young, Rel's little brother— told the tale of the shooting.

"We were just about to leave the mall and go to a label meeting, Rel was in talks with a label," Kevin said. "So we loading the shopping bags into the cars, and there comes a dude with pistol. At first we didn't see the shooter until my friend Trell say, 'Oh shit, a pistol!'

In the wake of the accident, Kevin observed that most everyoneshaken up, but not hurt. When he turned to look at Rel, he saw that the MC was laiding in a pool of blood. He was horrified to find that Rel was hit five times in the chest.

Kevin says. "He was bleeding all over himself. I picked him up, there was no life, no movement in his body. I immediately called 911. I was feeling panic, feeling nervous,because the ambulance didn't respond fast enough.

When they finally arrived, Kevin was clutching Rel, trying to keep him alive. "He started choking on his blood and I turned him on his side so he wouldn't choke," he said. "Fortunately enough, he is living.

Kevin also wanted to clear up rumors that there was an fight before the shooting. Thats false he says.
