Recently Rel has been making noise through mixtapes and twitter. Since he has been in the game he recently tweeted that a lot of the bigger rap names have’t reached out to him or even acknowledged his progress. The rapper was in the studio working on his debut album.

While in a recording late night session Avenge The Martyr stopped by. The group even recorded a song with Rel.They worked all night and released the song at 5:20am this morning, "The Life". Many fans love the song and the hype around the song is crazy. The song has leaked from the internet to the radio. The song was recently played in Atlanta on the "Top 8 @8".

The beat is your typically Rel joint. soul samples and cinematic strings swell over a live-sounding guaitar track. The chorus is done by Avenge The Marty, the group addes another layer of smoothness to the song. "The Life"is a good look for both Avenge The Martyr and shows some unity between usual rap versus and other genres that often define the game.

Listen to the song via twitter.

"The Life"
Its a smooth laid back track. Its about knowing you belong on the top stressing because soon or alater everyone will caught on. Its about living the good life and not having a care. Its about all the people that use to talk down on you. But now the want to be down with you because you are becoming famous.

Rapper Rel Shooting a Video

UserPostedImage
This is my first video," Rel said on the set of "The Life Feat. Avenge The Marty" in this morning, though he's made other videos. "I've shot a lot of videos before, but this is my first attempt to establish myself as Rel the artist and let them know me..ya kno?. Shooting the other videos I've done has been great. they were great experiences for me. I've learned a lot from them. Today, I'm shooting with Avenge The Marty and I'm shooting with Candice Weary..she a great young director.

We talked emotion-evoking visuals and just making the video fit the song" he added. "The song isn't even a club song but it has become strong in the clubs already. So we made the video scenes serious and fun"

"It offers whole differente experience for the song. The song — to a lot of people — is great, but after the video the will be official. This video is what I was really thinking about. The video is about my past life and what this new life has to offer. Even in the video, you see me looking back and forth between the two and reflecting. At the end of the video I'm in a recording label's office turning down a contract. Then i walk out the meeting saying "I'm a make ya'll respect me. Call back when ya'll have doubled the offer."

Rel Via Twitter: Thats most people's reaction at first. This industry is unpredictable though. Some of the biggest hits in music history were songs that weren't expected.

Rel Via Twitter: Its music. You have to experiment with different types of songs and artist. You got to have more than one dimension.
