As reported on theblackgates.com...

Who is the mystery tweeter that mentioned recently that prog metal stalwarts The Black Gates are set to return to the studio, as reported in the recent edition of the Chaos magazine? Rick Gates can categorically deny that it was him, after he all he does not have a Twitter account. However he himself has no idea who it was, nor is he fussed really that the news was slipped out earlier than he had planned.

After all, The Black Gates is like a tightly run organisation that revolves around the shaven headed, 'crazy eyed' guitarist, with occasional input from his faithful long serving right hand man Jack Barrett. It has been he who controls what the public will hear, what goes on the websites, magazine and when it is released in the past. Now, it does not bother Fisher...well a little but Fisher is no longer the tightly coiled spring of years past.

'It doesn't matter much I guess' Fisher commented. 'At least it's out now. I don't have to worry about timing releases and what not' As to who it was, Fisher can only speculate. 'Well it could have been Eric (Sanders, vocalist) as he has a bit of an obsession with Twitter. It can't have been Paul...he hasn't been able to use a computer for several months. Mikael (bass) can't even fucking use a computer...so it's not anyone in the band. Maybe it was our management team...who knows...who cares? The fact is, Paul (drums) is ready to slay the kit once more. His injuries from his unfortunate tour accident have healed and he basically has full movement in his left arm again. It's time to get back in the saddle”

Fisher does make mention of what's coming up though he does retain a guarded approach. 'There is definitely new material...it's not some rehash of older stuff, as I saw recently mentioned on some music forum. More back to basics for us. Just keeping it simple really. That's all I'll say. You'll have to wait for futher info...providing someone doesn't blabber again'.

As for the other rumour floating around, cult extreme metal supergroup Psycopathologist will be releasing a fourth album. Fisher can confirm this. 'Just quietly a while back, Jack and myself along with Dr Hellion and Tom Wheels (Hellspawn) and Jimmy Sullivan (Black Gold Reign) and our bass tech John just jammed away and came up with some really solid material. It's basically a complete evolution as far as death/grind goes...interpret that as you wish. It should have been out months ago but unforseen problems just stuffed it all up. The wait will have been worth it'
