Kamikaze Kate has never been one to stray from controversy. The second single from her fourth album "Keppra" is to be called "Hate". The cover art, disturbingly, includes Kate's own arm with the word "HATE" cut into it, along with a picture of the burning poppy in London on 11/11/2010.

"The burning was disgusting," says British born and bred Kate. "It's fucking pot kettle, Muslim fanatics whine if we say anything against them, and yet it's fine for them to burn a long standing symbol of peace, on a day dedicated to people fighting for it? Multiculturalism my arms!"

When accused of racism, Kate said, "Fuck that, I just REALLY hate the people who burn poppies and condemn our troops. They're the fascists out there. Most Muslims only get the usual level of KamiHate, which is shared by over six billion people." The other controversy was that the release date of "Hate" coincided with To Write Love On Her Arms Day, a cause which Kate strongly supports, and the cover art depicts the exact opposite of what TWLOHA stands for. "Do what I say, not what I do," said the young vocalist/guitarist. "They write hate on our armistice, I write hate on my arm. It'll heal. It was a set of scratches which bled a bit." The artwork may or may not be changed.

"The song was written quickly, so it isn't my best work, but I wanted to get that message of anger out there. It's a screaming, pissed off teenage female vocalist who took it out on her guitar strings. Really, I did, I broke a string and you can hear it in the song .... I left the noise in, I kinda liked the crack it made. Think The Pretty Reckless crossed with Minor Threat crossed with Kaethe Jenkins solo crossed with - well, Kamikaze Kate."
