Liam O'Mally, Official Statement

Dear All,

A few months have passed since anyone's heard anything from me, and it has a reason. Partly from the devastating loss of many good friends at Failed Youth, but also partly because I was recording my solo album. It was originally planned for release in September/October time, but obviously this never developed into anything other than a little speculation. I've been writting, re-writing, screwing up paper, breaking guitars, fixing guitars, etc etc for months now and I've come up with something that roughly resembles the beginnings of an album, but it needs a lot of refining and sorting out and generally needs a tidy up. It's all going to be solo, just me, no producers, no nothing just me. I'm even going to advertise it myself, fuck other people getting involved. During our music career The Lost never 'sold out', fuck that, we never felt the need to. But some of our stuff was definitely targeted towards bigger audiences, we never comprimsed the quality of the music, we just felt anarchaic punk-industrial rock wasn't always the best vessel for getting a message out.

But this time when it's me it's me, it's not about getting a message out other than expressing my feelings. It's an emotion.

So expect a release by Christmas,

- liam
