There are certain lyrics you can’t change and they need to be left alone. Not twisted, not personified. What came out of my mouth, was left alone. It makes things a little bit more outspoken. It’s almost like I’m talking directly to you, and you feel what I feel. It’s very personal.
"Crucifixion on an Innocent (Suffer)" is the opening track of the album “Newborn“. Many of the listeners will wonder why I chose such a moody song as the opening track but fact is that this WHOLE album is moody. If anything, it’s less of a pop record. Musically, this is no shock, since my previous record sort of represents the same idea, only in a less striped kind of way.
As you can hear, this album is as raw as the meat inside your bones. It’s not dead meat. It’s alive.
It’s not me trying to get credit and respect. As cocky as this sounds, I get it either way. I’m just as good when it comes to those pop records, since I’m aware being a pop star isn’t no joke, when you have to write, produce and live up to your records. I try to make it exciting when it comes to that and I have done so. I mean, at least my fans think so.
I’m the type of person who seeks wisdom/knowledge in every way possible. It’s hard for me to just sit and live day by the day. Every day I analyze the littlest things in life and I think that’s why I’m an artist. I have a strong vision and output. I’m curious.
At this point of my career, I’m an established artist. I’m not trying to prove myself anymore. Instead I will focus more on writing and making the music with much more quality and making it more of an experience rather than the typical instant hit record.
Obviously, that’s every pop star’s nightmare. I'm every Pop star's Nightmare.
I have had my few share of hits and catchy songs over the past and I think it’s time I show another side of me musically. I’m gifted, I’m talented and I’m not going to let that go to waste. I really hope Newborn gives off the message I’m trying to portray. Which is that no matter what happens in life, you have the power to get back up and start all over.
According to industry politics, a pop star isn’t allowed to lash out with the more alternative records. FUCK YOU. I’ve written my songs since day one. I have all the right!
Album will contain an "Parental Advisory" sticker for its explicit lyrical content and language.
