Jack Frost:

RETROSPECTIVE PART 1.

Jack Frost emerged onto the scene with his self titled debut album,Jack Frost. The folk album paid homage to the folk heroes that Frost loved. Dylan, Gutherie etc. It also had a twang of Jacks's idol, Bruce Springsteen. The album captured the essence of a true poet and political songwriter with such classics as Forgotten Grave, and Children Of War. Matching the finger pointing songs was Frost ability to tell a heartfelt story with such songs as Jack Frost Blues, The Cold Mountain and Serenade The Heart. Though the album wasn't a financial success, just selling over 100K copies. It showed the music industry that he met business!

A year after his debut Frost toured America and began writing songs for what would be his sophomore album, This Side Of Eden. The album was much darker in tone and a ten fold improvement on his first release. The album showcased Jacks love and hate relationship with New York City, with the powerful song Another East City Murder. Frost also wrote what critics argue his best written song, Highway To Eden. Through the dark tones of the album Frost weaved a love story with songs like Shoes Of Spain and Sad Eyed Sun. Eden hit the USA charts at #20, and selling an impressive 500k+ units. Almost tripling his debut album sales.

Immediately after Eden Frost was garnered the voice of his generation. Under pressure and under stress, Frost continued to write a flurry of songs while beginning his first UK tour. It was in this UK tour that a change had been struck with Frost. It is said that Frost had already recorded his follow up to Eden with the massive success,Gotham Nights. An album focusing on his New York affair, with such songs as Gotham Nights, New York Serenade, Midnight Murder Manhattan, My City Bleeds, and Romeo Is Cryin. Frost spent time in the UK after his tour to explore the scene and it was here where he discovered the 4th Street Band. Frost would never be the same again.

A full year gap without a new song from the troubador made everybody nervous. What made people even more nervous was reports of Jack Frost seen playing an electric guitar and singing, typical "rock songs.' something his fans did not want to happen. Well in December Frost answered to his cawing fans with his 4th studio album, NYC- Freeze Out. The album was one half accoustic and the other half electric. This sent everybody in a frenzy. His fans where divided. Hater and Supporters. The album featured songs about his romance with Cristina Lake, with songs like Love & Lake, If You Can, Go. The albums electric side featured some very surreal and high concept lyrics like Hot Tex Blues, Jesus On Fire
Subterranean City Murders, and Jurassic Jaws & The Undesirables. Through the heartbreak and stress Frost fell into drugs and began drinking....
