Radio Vine, real name Destiny Davis premiered her debut single, " Color Me" just weeks ago and sold over 300,000 copies on iTunes. The New York art freak said, " art and nudity is her obession and favorite subjects to talk about now." The girl who grew up in a house full of children who didnt have parents and also a girl who holds a lot of anger. The personality disorder songstress talks with iTunes's James Conner about the future of music, goals and even nudity.
How did you get the concept of " Color Me" ?
Mmm.. Color Me came from just a place from my heart. I just had to think a lot and when you think a lot, a lot of shit comes up. If you over think, a lot of shit comes up. Color Me was just a song about if I didnt do music I was uncomplete. If you think about it, if you don't finish a coloring sheets, homework or any kind of work. In a way, it's uncomplete and you left something uncomplete so something in your life isnt complete so you feel empty in that area that wasnt complete. (laughs) got damn, I said complete a lot.
What area of your music you think stands out?
Me, just being me and think like myself and not trying to be like the "typical" music industry is today. I can care less if no one buys my records or my singles, I just want people to hear my voice. The area I think that stands out is.. honesly, my passion and drive towards my music. If you love something so much, it will show in her work you do and the how orginal my songs are.
How do you deal with your disorders in our normal life and also with your music?
Deal with it. It's the only way you can heal, I think. I mean, come out James! If you TRY SO FREAKEN hard to fix something and you know you just have to deal with it, it's not going to work. You just have to deal with something until it's gone and I think it's going to just make you a stronger person. Power puts out any disease or illness anyday.
Did you ever know your real parents?
I didnt meet my grandpa until I was about 10, but no, I don't know where my real parents are. The closet parent I had is Mrs. Pearl, this woman at the orghan. She was so sweet- (seems like she is going to cry) but I mean, people left you. Lose is everyday. This song I wrote just a few days ago called Lostland. It's explains how I feel about that.
What place do you took yourself when you are writing music or recording music?
The place I feel safe is in myself. Not where is. When I just in my zone, I feel same and I feel like when I'm a lone, I can write and just think about the greatest music. I feel comfortable In my Skin, the next single I'm releasing. Think about it. If you could borrow skin, personalities, everything, will you miss yourself and how will you feel about yourself after being someone else for some time? I feel comfortable in me.
Why is nudity one of your favorite things to talk about?
(grins) everyone wants to feel really free sometimes. (laughs, then serious)
