As 2011 rolls in, there still is a lack in rap artists in the music industry, and especially when it comes to Hip hop/R&B/rap female artists. One female who is urging to stand highest among the rest, Shantel Stiletto smacks us in the face with 2nd single entitled 'Stiletto Music' featuring Chloe, who is a big act in 2011. The song is about being able to be yourself, enjoy having fun without the bothers of tomorrow. Shantel Stiletto also shows that she can indeed sing as she sings much of the song, accept for the bridge where her and Chloe burst out in a fast hitting 8 bar each, rapping stand off. It's not much of a standoff since they play as friends in the song and insist they love each other, but the listener cant help but to question the thought of competition since they are both rappers, though very different. We enjoy this song because, though it is uptempo, radio friendly and especially club friendly, it debuts a new side of Shantel that we didn't think we would ever see.. the clubbier and harmonizing singer in Shantel, and we are convinced that we want her to stay. Song sounds similar to Keri Hilson's 'The Way You Love Me' and is sure to hit the charts with a BANG!
Other notes
- The song took a whole week to finish
- Chloe didn't send in her verse, but instead flew out to the U.S to record the song exclusively with Shantel
- The song was written only by Shantel & Chloe
- Singer Chloe was first intimated with the verse Shantel wrote for the song, that comes before her on the bridge, but Shantel made her feel better about her owns calling Chloe's verse "Amazing".
