 OFF TO ERIS Song Description; SONG OUT FEBRUARY 14, 2011 (in the UK) "Off To Eris", is a dark escape song, that features a more complexed innovative instrumental and overall production. Unlike "Rio Piedras", this song keeps the raw rock oriented sound with a soulful yet 'whiny' guitar riff layered with a dark piano driven key.
The song's production includes 'brainwave entrainment', meant to relax you, but not in a boring way. With "brainwave entrainment", your mind grows sensitive to sounds, and the tubular bell sounding keyboard breakdown towards the end FEELS like ecstasy.
Daniel finds himself howling and hoarsing out his lyrics in a tasteful manner through B.E.
Those unfamiliar with "brainwave entrainment" (B.E). B.E. is used in very few experimental songs. Especially those that deal with the more soulful psychological purpose. B.E. was initially used for Insomniacs to put them to sleep, but experimental musicians find ways to use it as a "stay awake" tool. Once your brain is accustomed to the sound, things like whispers and instrument add on's come off as more 'present', which is oppositional to the feeling of being numb. Which insomniacs use to go to sleep.
Most of the song was recorded inside the caves of Puerto Rico. Inside the cave, Daniel found inspiration and drive.

The song has a somewhat similar structure or style as "antisocial" (Song) off "Anti-social. However, this time Daniel does not find himself "whispering" some of his lyrics. Daniel's voice is much more present and confident, which is what the last record seemed to be lacking. Presence.

Lyrically the song talks about the hardships and benefits of the idea of escape.

The artwork for "Off To Eris" is similar to the album cover which features Daniel sitting alone on a wooden bench located on a grassy hill overlooking the "Rio" (river). Unlike the album cover there isn't a wooden bench, but birds are seen escaping their home land.

"Off to Eris" will be released as a single in the US March 3, 2011 and February 14, 2011 in the UK.
'Off To Eris' will be the last and final single off "Rio".
