Bio: Zeke James is another big time indie artist that has just been discovered by Johnny McDougal. Though he did a lot of professional recordings and was a studio musician for a local label. He still sold his cds and mixtapes in the Manhattan subways while playing his guitar. Which where Johnny discovered him and his soulful voice immediately hit him. Along with Ezra's amazing voice he is also a student of the guitar, piano, and lap steel. His musical influences stretch the spectrum of Gospel, Soul, Folk, Blues, Reggae, Jazz, and Rock. One can expect him to play Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley all in the same performance. He loves to play for crowds and discuss music as well as social issues. His parents instilled those values in him as a child that he still carries with him. His mother is a nurse and his father is a music teacher which played a big part in his musical upbringing. He states remembering as a young child that his father always had a record playing in their home at almost all hours of the day. He functions as a solo act but also tours with his band that he calls "The Soul Brothers." He has released a single called "Subway Sounds." This single will be an amazing live cover from a recent show of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" that he wants to be put on the radio. He has also started a charity with Johnny McDougal called "The Healing Sound Foundation" which is an organization geared at bringing musical instruments and lessons into urban areas and underfunded high schools. Zeke is already touring solo and plans to share a few dates with TMK as a supporting act with his band.
