Andrew:
So nice to see you Stephanie Fierce. You’ve been kind of avoiding interviews, and press coverage, missy. You recently cancelled your interview with Rolling Stone magazine and MTV. Is the the busy tour to blame or are there other issues taking place? I mean you're literally touring every night and you're basically a single mother.

Oh boy, I'm not avoiding anything, but yeah, touring keeps me busy, plus a child! It's not easy man. Give me a break (laughs). the reality of it all is that there was a misunderstanding with my management team so I had to cancel, but those are private things I can't really speak of. there's no preference on my behalf. I honestly can’t really find the time do interviews as I use to. I’ve done billions of them anyways, so there is nothing missing here. But I do have something new to say today. - Stephanie Fierce

Andrew:
At the very beginning of your career, it seemed as though you were going to be the next Madonna! I’m just gonna throw it out there. (laughs) People from time to time, would say “she’s the next Madonna, she’s next Madonna”, which by the way I’m pretty sure you took as a compliment. However, things have obviously changed for you ever since. After your second album “Diary of a Pop Sinner”, you did a 180 degree turn musically and haven’t turned back ever since and we’re wondering…..what should people consider you now, a retired pop act or an experimental artist?

First of all, Madonna is a pop icon, but I’m in no shape or form like her ‘musically’, with maybe the exception of her ‘Ray of Light’ album, which is my personal favorite from hers. That’s the only thing that my music comes close to, in terms of sound, because I was inspired by it when I made “Free”. Unless you consider “controversies” outside lyrics a part of music, I think what people were referring to was the fact that I had a “I don’t care” attitude, especially at the beginning of my career. That might not seem like a big deal now, because everyone now has that attitude, and nowadays people want to be portrayed as the biggest bitches around. Madonna was not a mannequin artist; she was very verbal with her art, which is something that did influence me. Many pop acts had that “I don’t care” attitude, but they don’t have a message that goes a long with it. There’s a difference between releasing images for the hell of it, and releasing images that have a purpose. However, When people would say to me “you’re going to be the next Madonna”, I would tell them, “no, I’m going to be the next Stephanie Fierce”. - Stephanie Fierce

Andrew:
Ha clever!

That’s not a diss to Madonna. That’s just having pride in my work and what I do. Now on to the last bit of your question. There was a time in my career, when I didn’t want to be labeled as a pop act, because the definition it carried. I don’t know how many times I have to stress this, but I don’t mean to say that being a pop act is a bad thing, I personally enjoy pop music. You need pop music. Without pop music, there is no way to escape reality and there is no way for a specific group of people to feel important. But I felt as though the title was too narrow. Especially with the music I make. Certain artists want to place me in that category just to downsize me. However, everyone knows I’m not just a ‘pop act’ and those insecurities really are there within those people. I consider myself mainstream, but I don’t consider my music just pop music. Unless you go back to my first two albums, my music does not only contain catchy lyrics and addictive choruses. It’s much more complex, especially with my fourth and fifth album. I’ve evolved and some people just don’t want to accept that, that’s all. - Stephanie Fierce

Andrew:
Why do you think "Free" wasn't as appealing as you hoped it to be? What is your take on the commercial performance

I think it's pretty appealing. I've had amazing support and compliments from so many well respected artist. I just didn't want it to be one of those albums that is looked as a pop record, because it's not. Which is why there was hardly any promo for it, besides making music videos and performing the songs on tour. However if it were a pop record I would of promoted it. I've said this in the past. I feel like every record of mine is like getting a degree in the study of 'myself'. Free is "Newborn's" prodigy. It’s the dark/evil side of Newborn. I really dig deep in Human ethos and such, like perverseness. How sick our minds can be. I really go deep into myself. That kind of stuff is not something to add bullshit to. I'll leave it as it is.

Commercially the album has exceeded my exceptions. It's very interesting that people still bought the album in retail, despite it being available for free on my website for nearly a month before it was released on retail. - Stephanie fierce

Andrew:
Some singers do not consider releasing free music, what are your thoughts on that sort of decision being made? Do you think releasing music for free is a marketing strategy to keep a fan base?

Marketing strategy? Haha, people try to make the music industry sound like it’s some sort of secret corporation. I mean don’t get me wrong, this industry is full of people that are ‘out to get you’, but nothing is ever planned so detailed, at least from my understanding. Me personally, I want to be more direct with my fans. I don’t want them to feel like they are my investment. I think it’s important for artists and musicians to give the fans free music, at least from time to time, especially if you’re pretty settled in the money department. I think even with strict labels, there is always a way to give the fans free music. Not everything has to be a selfish investment. When you go “here, download my album, free, with no hassle” I think things go much smoother and people will pay attention more to the music, rather than the whole money spectacle. - Stephanie Fierce

Andrew:
In all honesty. What is your favorite song on "Free"? You can only pick one? Also, in contrast to all your previous albums, what is something distinctive from "Free", that you like most?

It's like asking a mother to pick her favorite child. It doesn't work for me sorry (laughs). Something distinctive from this album was the fact that I found myself singing in syllables. I've never really done that, because it breaks the rule of a pop song and allows me to be more flexible with the lyrics. - Stephanie Fierce

Andrew:
what is 'singing in syllables'?

Singing in syllables, is basically when you stretch out a note by slicing a word with syllables to somewhat break away from a melody. For example. If you sing the word "today". You don't just sing "today". You sing "To (pause) dayyyyy". Which allows you to be microscopic with the production of the song. Never really did that with my previous albums. -Stephanie Fierce

Andrew:
Many people wonder, will you ever go back to making a pop album? Meaning, another album in which appeals more to the mainstream audience

I think people will keep enjoying my more experimental vulnerable side, but I also feel that some of my fans miss the pop side of me. The one who appears on Tyra Banks out of nowhere. The one who dances on music videos. The one who writes catchy choruses and verses. And I really want to give my fans what they want. But I also want this for myself. I want to loosen up a bit. So I’m ready to start fresh with a new album in 2012. In fact, I’m ready to make another pop album. But of coarse, everything I do has depth, don't expect something generic. A lot of creative juices are flowing in my head (laughs). - Stephanie Fierce

Erich:as you can see, hess fans are vital to the world economy.if that means fewer record sales for us,well so be it. Our sacrifice means jobs.

Karoliena: the alarm clock sales are very important.with fewer and fewer banks offering alarm clocks, someone has to pick up the slack.

Erich: *nods* yup.think local,act global.

Ooc: i was hoping to not cross the line into obnoxiousness

June 24, 2011 / Single Review / 5:20pm

After their long hiatus,"MIND" has decided to re-group, with new drummer “Stevie Moxie” in line to work on the new album. Which like a creepy little fan girl, I’m really excited for! As a big fan of Mind, I’m going to review these lyrics, in my most fair, honest and absolutely shameless opinion. So here we go ;)

Lacuna. When I first read the title, I thought acapella and once I read the lyrics, the word itself got lost in its entire epicness.

The track seems to lean towards two things; someone who feels torn and is being shaped by everything he thinks, as well as everything that goes against him. And……..some cool poetry that fabricates the track into something that is not understandable in one read. At least that’s what I thought when I first read the lyrics. But realistically, the song seems to have a hidden message, or a message that maybe might not be as clear as the band hoped it would be. Maybe a visual would help or maybe the actual finished track will shape the message. But for now, my comprehension is acting up, so maybe my perception of the song it totally out. But I like it so far, and it’s a great way to welcome back the band everyone with good music taste misses.

Its lyrics, like many of Mind's lyrics; seem to work in parallel. The opening lyrics “Hey Goodbye, You know I Tried, but to my surprise this man is dying“ automatically draws you in as you read, but as you further read, you start to realize the narrator is some sort of preacher rambling, dismissing, uplifting you about things in the most poetic way possible.

I would of hated for them to release a prissy little track that we all would automatically fall in love with. But this is what makes "Lacuna" worth a read. After all, it’s not one of those songs that you read once and begin to enjoy it, which is what I’m into! This song might even turn out to be one of my favorites in a long while. Only vocal, sound and everything in between will tell. But for now, these are exceptional lyrics from “Mind”, and as they continue to announce their much anticipated return, I could only grow more excited. Great to have you back guys!

Glamazon = The Glamorous Bitch Slayer

Oh Glamazon, how thee slays me with thy lyrics. As I listened to “How to Destroy Your Boyfriend” (lifted off her new free RP "Massacre"), not only did I shamelessly whip my hair back forth but the lower half of my body went into this transfusion vibration, probably more massive than a 9.0 earthquake. This might not be a good thing, but violence is something we all tend to play with as pop song writers, and we’ve been doing so since Scott H knows when. However, I could just imagine Glamazon writing those lyrics with a pen that could probably transform into a deadly weapon at any given time, if ever necessary. If we’ve learned anything at this point, is not to mess with Glamazon, or you might be losing some wanted body mass, if you know what I mean ;)

According to the lyrics, Glamazon has captured her ex-lover and is throwing evil sentences at him, that will make his baby maker shrink back into its cavity. Evil and somehow seductive! Anyone with a bondage fetish could be turned on by these lyrics. Sparingly all without her infamous machete/gun or any other weapon that she has no fear in using!

Dubstep is what’s ‘in’ at the moment, and the track seems to have its own spin on it. Glamazon has always been a synthersized, electronic beast, so this comes as no surprise, but it still serves up pretty well. One thing I’ve noticed is that Glamazon’s vocal seem to be maturing. I might not be a guitar expert, but when it comes to vocals, I can read you like a simple word. Glamazon’s voice is maturing, above all the sound engineering effects. She has potential to be one of the best electronica singers of our time. I see it!

Overall the lyrics are fun and emphasize highly on word play. This song works for someone’s whose suffering in a relationship or simply hates their boyfriend. Or simply just wants to go on a “whip my hair back and forth” session like me. But it does bring to my interest. Will Glamazon ever make an acoustic cut of some sort? That will definitely take me by surprise. Just don’t be surprised if she still chops the shit out your balls after you listen to this track, sucker! Hence “You bring me flowers to say you're sorry, And I'll lay them same flowers down on your grave”.

STEPHANIE FIERCE TURNED ON BY BIKKI'S "Miss Whiplash"

September 17, 2011 / Single Review / 6:38pm

Bikki's IN HEAT! MEOWWWWW!

This wonderful musician not only embraces her killer acapellas, her songwriting is always on point, packed with raw emotion; inspiring many artist including myself and despite calling herself a pop star, she embraces the attitude of an indie artist. I’m talking about none other than the very talented Bikki. After a small break from music, Bikki returns with her sophomore effort "Mox Bixbite", which is due out October 3, 2011. Even though the new album follows the footsteps of her first album "Open Fire", so far "Bixbite" has taken many listeners by surprise with its delivery and diversity of genres and collabs released so far. It's a bit shameless of me to pick “Miss Whiplash" to review since there is far superior tracks on the album. But this tune is bearable and has so far stood out a bit at the moment. It does feature a mixture of two of the biggest sex machines that provide its hype overload. However, I’m looking beyond that, and I actually LOVE the song.

The production might seem a bit off the map, it does nothing but wonders for Bikki. The lyrics are fun, cheesy and very "pop". Talking about "Pop"...... Bikki once herself said "Pop is the heaviest kind of music". She's not one bit wrong about that. But this pretty light in sound comparing to the previous tracks released. Maybe Sexy Star and Joshy Firecracker were a bad influence on her but the raunchy lyrics, which talk about a girl who feels confident about herself, despite not showing it. I personally see nothing wrong with that. My point is that it’s always fun to see Bikki loosen up a bit and do a pop record. Besides that, I really enjoyed “Battle Cries”. But this record, embarrassingly turns me on for some odd reason.

I can't help but feel "in heat" as they all sing "Come on baby take my hand before I grab you, It's bedbreaking time oh yeah". Bikki while being more tender with her lyrics, sounds more seductive than usual, which is once again a very good thing. I can't help but be mesmerized by Joshy's verse "But there's more than meets the eye, You haven't seen the curves that lie, Beneath the layers that she wears, If you saw those you'd stop and stare". Any girl who doesn't seem confident about themselves but is...especially in the bed, can relate to that verse. Sexy Star apparently can make love feel like "lightning speed". Is that a good thing? You tell me. All of this fierce naughty-ness surprisingly take place over an acoustic like beat. Overall, the record sounds like a big orgy and I can't help but be turned on by these three music hooligans. Bikki you're still my girl, you officially turned me on and it's never wrong to have a little fun with your music! ;)

NEXT SINGLE: ELECTRIC GUITAR VIRGIN
Written and produced by Stephanie Fierce
Genre: Alternative Rock, Minimal Trance, Classical Crossover

Song Background and Lyrics

During her younger years, Stephanie Fierce never picked up a guitar. Steph's parents never introduced her to rock music, and were against it.

"I wish I would of had the appreciation I have for rock music today when I was younger. Growing up, my parents thought me that rock music is from the devil and should never be played. They always made fun of the rock artists and judged their appearance. Latinos are thought to not listen to it. During those times, we were thought that in order to have "Latino pride" we must listen to Latin music. It was part of the Hispanic movement. But I always had a heart for rock music and it's the reason why I was always felt like there was something missing."

After the release of “Dying in the Airwaves” and making her guitar playing debut, Stephanie Fierce was inspired to write a song about guitars and her new found love freedom with them. After a having a discussion and discussing guitars with legendary guitarist Ryan Ross Hernadez, Stephanie Fierce challenged herself to compose yet another guitar driven song.

“I didn’t want the song to be this typical “rock” song with a guitar solo. So I added a classical crossover section towards the end, where everything settles down. That was bound to happen, anyway. As I’ve said I put boundaries, I didn’t want the song to turn the song into something it was not meant to be or something that didn’t represent me. Very complex to put it all together, but it worked.”

The song’s lyric are simple word play with virginity and guitar playing.

Production and Composition

"Electric Guitar Virgin", is the only song of two that does not include the “Fierce Atmosphere” in the instrumentation. The song features an electronica based composition. The elctronica based composition is made of amen-break like build up, that converted to a trance like appeal. A forceful instrumentation of a brawling guitar with driven bass, keyboards is heard. They sound a bit psychedelic. The song also pays homage to “Electric Club”, mimicking its heavy bass line. The song starts off with a static like beat classified in the dubstep genre, however that does not continue throughout the song. Once the chorus kicks in, the electric guitar dominates the overall sound leading up the guitar solo. The guitar solo mimics the chorus with emphasis and acts as a bridge. Due to Steph’s low experience with guitar solos, it’s composed to mimic the chorus. Once the guitar solo is finished, the track goes into this trance fusion like break, leading up to a classical music crossover section above a trip hop influenced beat. Stephanie Fierce arranged the beats with pre-recorded classical pieces. The classical crossover section features a striking violin that builds up to a non-stop 16 second vocal belt, making it the second vocal acrobatic done in “Free”. The song then proceeds with the trip–hop beat while slowly fading out. While slowly fading out, you can hear distinctive melancholic noise that echoes created by a guitar pedal.

Vocals are laid back through most of the song and the lyrics are purposely sung as if Stephanie was reading them out. She almost sounds as if she’s under control and the soprano side is more present. Stephanie Fierce’s vocal ranges from D3- E6 in her 16 second vocal belt, which is more than outstanding. Overall, “Electric Guitar Virgin” was recorded, edited, mixed by Stephanie Fierce in two weeks. It was the last song to be mixed and shipped for the album.

"Electric Guitar Virgin" (Lyric Taster)

She’s dress in black, with the pic and the spike
But they still say,
she a….Electric Guitar Virgin
She plays it hard, with the tongue out her mouth
But they still say…..
Electric Guitar Virgin

NEWS:

"I feel a new energy coming as an artist and as a person. I'm ready to work hard and be the best." - Stephanie Fierce

After, resigning herself from Hot Eye Records, Stephanie Fierce is now officially signed to Monk On Fire Music, with a two album deal. The record label is the fourth Stephanie has partnered with to date. Stephanie Fierce first signed with FML back in 05 (officially in 2007). Then signed on to V-records and Spice Records respectively, on a duel contract in 2009. After becoming owner of Hot Eye Records in 2010, Stephanie Fierce put out two albums with her own company. After having minor issues with her management team and a promising record label, Stephanie Fierce is ready to leave all that in the past and start fresh with no management team to move on forward.

"I'm my own management team from now own and the people I worked with over the past year, I wish them all luck and success. I'm putting my best foot forward now."- Stephanie Fierce

Now, almost seven years into her professional music career, Stephanie Fierce is planning to release her highly anticipated sixth studio album. The project will be the fist with her new record label and will mark her return to 'pop music', starting on a clean slate. Stephanie Fierce however will continue her "Newborn Tour" to support the album throughout 2012. The tour's second US, Europe and UK legs will be announced around November 2011.

Writing and recording for the new album officially began in August 2011. As of now, it will remain unknown as to who or what Stephanie Fierce will be teaming up with to record and produce the new album. The lead single off the album however is nearly finished and should be expected for release sometime in January of 2012. The full length album release is expected to be released early spring of 2012. Major promo will be done for the new album.

"I'm ready to bring it. I'm a professional at this. Been doing it for years. I now can work on my own pace, and I'm actually having a lot of fun recording and writing. The great thing about pop records is that there is no limit to the imagination. There is no limit to the music. There is no limits period. My fans are in for a treat." - Stephanie Fierce
