Name: “Wild Young Things World Tour”
Location(s): Worldwide
Year(s): 2014
Dates: TBC
Legs: 8
Start Date: January 13, 2014
End Date: TBC
Ticket Prices: $35 (standard seating/standing ticket) $85 (meet and greet, incl. tickets, signed merch)

“Wild Young Things World Tour” is a concert tour by American rock band ‘R!ot In The Boulevard’ in support of their fourth studio album, ‘Wild Young Things’, which was released in September 2013. It marks the band’s second official world tour, their first being in 2013 in support of their previous album ‘Crossroads’. The tour will reportedly be the biggest tour that the band will have embarked upon, taking in at least 8 legs, covering North America twice, Europe twice, Asia & Oceania twice as well as South America and brief run of shows in Africa, the first time the band has ever performed on the African continent. It will also see the band perform in places they are yet to venture, with the likes of Chile, Peru and Colombia on the South American leg, India, Indonesia and Thailand on the Asia & Oceania leg and as previously mentioned, a run of shows in South Africa.

The tour Itinery will see the band beginning with the North American leg, where they will be performing in smaller club venues across the USA and Canada, this leg will begin at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California and ending at the Prairieland in Canada. Before the band then head out to South America for the second leg, which will begin in March. They will then venture onto the Asia & Oceania leg of the tour from April until May before a four-date stop in Africa which will include a free concert in Port Elizabeth. The final confirmed leg of the tour will be in Europe throughout June and July with rumours that the band will be playing a part on the European festival circuit.
There is confirmation that the band will then take on another three legs of the tour, but the dates haven’t been 100% confirmed at the moment. So although the tour has been announced and tickets will be going on sale from next Friday, don’t worry if you can’t catch them just yet, many more dates are expected to be announced later in the year.

A full list of supporting acts for the tour are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but already to be included on the gigantic world tour are acts from Amy Meyers own record label ‘Songs to Love and Die By’ in the form of Electro-Pop singer-songwriter ‘Maddie Urie’ and pop-punk New Yorkers, ‘My Girl Friday’. Also rumoured to be making an appearance during the tour at some stage are expected to be the popular rock group ‘Fathers of Fury’ who happened to be the first act to take ‘R!ot In The Boulevard’ on tour with them. Keep your eyes open for more acts to be announced soon.

The members of ‘R!ot In The Boulevard’ are reported to have once again had complete control in the planning of the tour, from dates, venues and cities, to ticket prices and production. A highlight of their first ever headlining tour in 2013 was the surprisingly cheap pricing of tickets, this year the prices have gone up slightly, from $20 to $35 for a standard ticket and from $45 to $85 for the VIP package which includes a meet and greet with the band. Once again though, in comparison to many of the other top touring acts, this provides a much cheaper pricing offer. When you consider that the band perform a minimum of 24 songs per show, it surely offers value for money.

UserPostedImage

"Wooooooooooorld, are you ready?
Yes, the opening night of our 2014 world tour begins on Monday night at the Roxy in Hollywood. We have a whole bunch of new songs to perform to all of you beautifully insane people, apparently it's gonna be pretty intimate, basically it's about to get real and sweaty! Ewwwww, nasty! But look at these smiling faces, we couldn't be more excited to rock your entire universes (universe? univers-i? univers-y? ... I dunno, grammar was never my forte) But yes, we are extremely excited for this tour, and to those that have already requested an 'Adam Benjamin Solo-Interlude', sadly not all dreams can come true, and I'm very sorry to dissapoint you, I'm a people pleaser and whenever I fail to please people, a tiny little light in my untouched heart burns out and dies :'( ... BUT FEAR NOT, YOUNG PILGRIMS AND VAGABONDS, FOR I ADAM BENJAMIN ARRIVE INTO YOUR WORLDS BEARING SPECTACULAR NEWS THAT THERE WILL BE A SECOND ADAM BENJAMIN SOLO ALBUM! (yes boys and girls, it's the second coming ... Jesus ain't got nothin' on this dude! ... ruh-oh ... *calls Amy* ... Amyyyyy, do we have religious fans? ... *dead silence* ... I done bad, I done vewy bad!
Ahhhhhhhhh, see you on Monday *runs away*"

- Gregory Van Winklebottom (definitely not Adam Benjamin, he's somewhere else) *shifty eyes*

R!OT DEBUT BRAND NEW SONGS DURING WORLD TOUR!

UserPostedImage

The giant pop-punk trio’s 2014 world tour has started off in typically spectacular fashion, the opening leg of the mammoth world tour sees the band hit North America, but to the surprise of fans, the opening US dates sees them performing at much smaller intimate venues, although there’s been confirmation that the first leg was always planned to be used as a unique road-test for the band which recently had to deal with the difficulties of losing two of its founding members Justin and Nathan Mullen. It’s been made very clear that as the tour progresses throughout the year, the band will be doing the big shows that are expected of them.
The tour is now eight shows in and the band have been heavily praised for their performances, as a live band they’re often widely regarded as one of the best in the industry, with average setlists spanning over at least twenty-four songs and rarely remaining the exact same from a night by night basis, put that with the energy of the band appearing to be extremely relentless and you’ve got something that will seemingly always be a big draw.

As customary with a new tour, there is a mix of hits, fan favourites and songs from the latest record. This tour definitely seems to be going along these lines, the band have opened each show with the exception of one with what could be considered one of their biggest and most popular tracks, the debut single ‘Sweet Little Fantasies’ and have generally ended their gigs with the more recent ‘We Are The Half-Moon Kids’ which has quickly become a big fan favourite. When you go through the setlists of the band you quickly realize just how much ground the band have covered in such an incredibly short period of time.

At their most recent concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the band threw in a couple of brand new songs, lead singer ‘Amy Meyer’ surprised the audience when she exclaimed “We’ve said that we haven’t got any plans beyond this world tour, we don’t know if there will be another record anytime soon. But we’re always writing and tonight … I dunno, it just feels like the right moment to try out a couple of newly written tunes … you guys down for that?” the reaction, overwhelmingly positive, they thrashed out three extremely catchy pop-punk songs that felt like a continuation of the work that they created on ‘Wild Young Things’ but different enough to make them stand-out from their most recent work. The tracks ‘Enjoy Yourself, It’s Later Than You Think’, ‘The Poster Kids Of Pop-Punk’ and ‘We Aren’t Lost, Just Misguided Slightly’ all felt very connected to one another, perhaps indicating a similar theme and topic for what could become their next collection of songs, however a full-length album with these tracks would appear off the mark if her comments at the end of the show were anything to go by, “Pittsburgh, you’ve been beautiful! We hope to see you down the road sometime … I dunno if that’ll be anytime soon, we’re thinking the music world needs to have a little break from R!ot after this year!” the crowd certainly disagreed, but you can’t blame the flame-haired singer for desiring some form of respite.
