The baddest killing-est boy in music < No not really, he is pretty good though. It has not been easy getting here and as a matter of fact probably the most tiring and dragged out processes ever. Even getting this site up was a hassle never mind finding an agent and publicist etc. I realise that I am rambling a lot of ish, so I'll stop. Oh but one more thing, by visiting this site you are making my Mom very happy!"
Sean Jay Kaeron Lawrie was born on 11th July 1990. He was raised in Carmel Valley Village, California. His parents, Liza and James Lawrie are both Catholic and raised Sean as one too. They attend church every day and Sean was dragged, oh sorry, 'came along' with them. He has an older brother, Nathan, and two older twin sisters, Carolyn and Francesca. Being the youngest of the family, he admits to being babied and smothered by everyone. This is one of many reasons why he wanted to have a career in music, so he could become independent......and gets lots of money.
Another reason why he wanted to start a career in music was because his best friend at school's dad was a producer. Whenever Sean was at his friends house, he would hear all sorts of different music. This is when he heard Electro Pop music like
Depeche Mode, which Sean's parents would not allow to be played in the house. At the age of 11, Sean and his friends (Sophie, Ray and Liam) formed a small pop band but due to many arguments in the band (Honestly, nothing to do with Sean!....honestly), they split up after one year.
Sean is bipolar and has a very bad temper. This has caused him a lot of set backs in his life and has also gained him a lot of enemies. He is a kind soul who wants to do good but quite a lot of the time, this rage takes over him causing a lot of damage. He was picked on in school for it but Sean refused to listen apart from one time when he was nearly expelled for fighting in the toilets but that is another story.....Anyway, he is a lovely person but even he admits
'he scares himself sometimes'.
In 2005, he started writing music for himself and was really serious about making it big. He was signed with a small label but parted ways after 5 months with them due to Sean feeling that the label wasn't supporting him one bit. After a brief stint with a label, he decided to try out doing things himself and recorded a few songs he had written and put them on his MySpace page. They all became quite popular and he gathered an underground following. His music was often compared to
Robyn and
The Killers.
In 2008, after leaving his profile without an update for 3 years, he uploaded 9 brand new songs and gave his small fan base a surprise. One of the tracks featured his older brother
(who was in no way trying to feed off the attention Sean was getting!). Another track was a cover of
'Without You' by
Mariah Carey which showed of his impressive vocal range. However, Sean does not like doing the 'big notes' as he feels like he is showing off.
In 2010, Sean came out as bisexual. Much to his parents dismay, Sean told everyone he knew and felt he could no longer keep it a secret. His father disowned him since the day he admitted he was partly attracted to men as it
"isn't natural", well to him anyway. His father was arrested because he beat Sean up, claiming to
"beat the Devil and the evil out of him". His mother was more supportive and although she still isn't 100% fine with it, she would never hurt her son. Sean still doesn't speak to his father, due to the fact that he is in prison....
Sean is now looking for a record deal and a good one! One that gives him creative freedom and allows Sean to be, well, Sean! And just to reiterate again to possible labels, Sean's musical genres are Electro-Pop, Pop and Dance.
