I am eagerly looking forward to the last ever Woods of Ypres record, which was due in January until David Gold died. Selfishly I hope it still comes out then as planned.
As for great stuff that came out in 2011, I've been bad at keeping on top of new releases. I'm more on a retro-binge right now. I mean my record of Christmas week has been Weezer - Pinkerton.
But records that stand out, Burzum's latest of course. New releases from Ulver, Novembers Doom, Cave In, Shining, YOB, Crowbar, Mastodon, Hank Williams III & a masterful return to form from Opeth. There's a lot I need to check out too, but that's what January is for. |
