CTS HAS RELEASED IT'S FIRST NEW SINGLE FROM 'THE GOLDEN BOUGH'

That's right. CTS has recently released it's first single from the new album The Golden Bough. The first single is "Public Enemies". It features a demo of the track "I Still See Your Face" which will be on the album, and a B-Side called "The Call of Cthulhu".

01. Public Enemies[5:24]
02. I Still See Your Face[Acoustic Demo][5:01](Futrell)
03. The Call Of Cthulhu"[6:48]

All Songs Written By The Band Unless There Is A Last Name In Paranthesis.
Label: Midnight Records
Produced By: Tony Visconti, Casting Thin Shadows
Mixed At: Purgatory Studios
Casting Thin Shadows Is:
Regan Futrell - 3rd Guitar, Vocals
John Smith - Lead Guitar, Vocals
Marcy Smith - Rythm Guitar, Back Up Vocals
Dante Holmes - Bass, Back Up Vocals
Luna Star - Keybaord, Vocals
Alan Kidd - Drums

A reviewer had this to say:
Filled with goth haunting riffs, and in-your-face death metal influence, Casting Thin Shadows are indeed back. Heavier, more matured, more haunting, more badass than ever! The song is defintly one of their best. Filled with a huge chorus and a nice guitar solo, also a very epic outro. This is Casting Thin Shadows.

You can buy the single here.

'In this sacred grove there grew a certain tree round which at any time of the day, and probably far into the night, a grim figure might be seen to prowl. In his hand he carried a drawn sword, and he kept peering warily about him as if at every instant he expected to be set upon by an enemy. He was a priest and a murderer; and the man for whom he looked was sooner or later to murder him and hold the priesthood in his stead. Such was the rule of the sanctuary.'—Preface
Sir James
George Frazer taken from The Golden Bough

Thanks. We thought about doing one but we have so many studio albums out and it will be hard to choose 10 or 20 tracks from 13 albums to put on one album so we don't know yet. Also here is the artwork for "I Still See Your Face" which was done by our close friend Jake Comatose.

Also I will be performing at the Gay Festival this weekend on the 17th. It's going to be awesome. You should come out even if you don't support gay rights.

We have added a new date to the tour. It will be on October 6th at the Hot Topic Arena. Same bands on the Phoenix and the Bronze tour will be opening. Now get this:
Our goal here is to destroy this place! We will be playing our heaviest setlist we have ever played at a concert and there will be a Wall Of Death. I can already taste the blood that should be shed at this concert! Also I would like to tell everyone it has been official. This will not be the only tour dates. A whole new tour is being made right now as we speak!

We are all speechless about what has happen today. Luna was always fun to be around with. We all know how excited people have been about us returning and we really thank you all so much for the support but we are gonna try to manage out to continue this tour and afterwards if we record another record we record another record, if we don't well we just don't. We are all at a state of sadness right now but if one of us is down we all go down. But we WILL deliver the rest of this tour dammit. And the festivals we are going to be involved with but after all that it will be the end. We have already made up our minds. Once again we want to individually thank each and every other fan out there who has bought all our records or not even bought all but bought one or downloaded our music off of the internet we love all of you who has always supported and gave us a listen. Thank you and the rest of this tour is going to be intense. Mark our words.

Love,
Regan, John, Marcy, Dante, and Alan.

We will be releasing a double live album called "Phoenix and The Bronze: Live! From Carolina Crossroads" before November. We have also wrote a new song dedicated to Luna called Stardust(An Ode To Luna). It will be released as a single sometime in the future. It will be performed tonight on tour as well. If you haven't already voted please vote for us at the Birdies. We will also be performing there tonight and that song will be debut there.

Future of the band:

We would like to release this statement regarding the future of the band:
"We feel as if we have put out enough albums as a band. Due to the death of our sister Luna Star we have came to a conclusion for this band. She would want us to continue we know for sure but we feel as if if we lost one family member than the rest are lost as well. While recording "The Golden Bough" we never saw this happening to us. We thought we were gonna make a comeback and continue as a band but now since this event has happen we have finally came to a conclusion to do nothing but end this band. We've been together as a band for along time now and have seen people come and go but when it is someone really close to you it's just hard to continue. We will be releasing a double live album sometime soon before 2009 is over and also be releasing a third and fourth single from "The Golden Bough" as well. Tonight at the Birdies was indeed our last time as a band there. We will finish this tour up then go our separate ways once and for all. We will update this page every now and then on what we are all doing but for the mean time we will be working on finishing this tour. Luna we miss you!

Love,
Regan, John, Marcy, Dante, and Alan

The third single off of Casting Thin Shadows 13th studio album will be "American Werewolves" and will be released featuring a live version and the newly recorded song for the late Luna Star so far titled "Stardust(An Ode To Luna)". The band has also revealed they will release a fourth single off of the album as well too.

Haven't updated anyone in a lonnnnnnnnng time it feels like so might as well do it anyway. We have officially sold out of our album "The Golden Bough" and our latest single "American Werewolves". As all of you know we are calling it quits until we feel it's right to come back as a band after this tour. However due to us not wanting to keep pushing "The Golden Bough" and since we don't have any new material we have officially agreed we will be recording a covers album before the year is up and have it in your hands before our final tour. How sweet is that? If it isn't how about this; we plan to release a fourth and final single off of "The Golden Bough" which will also serve as the first single off of our upcoming live album. The single will be..."Judgement Of Paris" which features our favorite mate Jake Comatose. He also joined us live when we recorded this live album. So be on the look out for that. The release dates for the single, live album, and covers album will be revealed this Sunday. Until next time.

Though I'm still not actually accepting the fact that you guys are going, it was truly an honour to work with CTS, and will be an honour to work with any of the guys in the future. True inspirations, and I've had some of the best times of my life on stage with Casting Thin Shadows.

If you haven't heard well it's over. The band, tour and everything. We deeply apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us on tour but some things have to end. We will still be at SnowStorm this year. That will be our last performance. But other then that it's over. The Live CD/DVD has been getting mixed for the last 2 weeks and isn't done yet. We will also announce a B-Sides album soon. So stay tune. Judgement of Paris will be our last single and should be released on October 25th. Artwork is coming soon for the live album and single. Once again thanks to everyone who has ever bought a CTS CD, been to a live show, bought a shirt, downloaded our music for free off the internet, it's been real.

Love,
Casting Thin Shadows.

I just want to let everyone know the live album and b-sides album will still come out just not right now. Well the live album might be out before the end of the year but the b-sides album won't be out until whenever. So what have we all been up to?

Here it is:
Alan - Drumming for Quarantine
Regan - Frontman for Quarantine and solo career
Dante - Touring bassist for Alex Sin
Marcy - Working on Alex Sins new album with Alex Sin, working on a new project with Alex Sin
Me - Producing albums. I produced The Waiting Room's "Define Gravity" and I might produce Alex Sin and Marcys new project album. Also I've been writing some songs, don't know if it'll be a new In The Arms Of Sleep record or something new OR an official solo record. Just don't know.

As for the future of the band while if you can't tell we've all been busy. To be honest I love this band but I just don't see us coming back together. Well at least not until we're done with what we want to do right now. 'cause I don't think Regan would continue this band as the only original member. I know I would'nt. I mean we had our time but it's just time to go. Know what I mean? We all had a blast. Had are ups and downs but at the end of the day it just isn't the same chemistry that started this band. I will however come in and inform everyone about are where abouts every now and then. The DVD that comes with the live album will have a documentary called "The Abyss - A Journey Through Hell & Back". It was something one of our close friends recorded while we were in the studio for "The Golden Bough" and while we were on tour. It DOES include how Lunas death affect us hard and how it changed us and this band.

Also tomorrow is our last performance we will be doing for awhile. SnowStorm is tomorrow. We are gonna bring our best performance ever! We hope you all can make it to catch us one time.

Love,
John Smith
