INFEXXION BIOGRAPHY (Member Breakdown Included)Four diverse characters make up the band 'Infexxion'. Let's do this run-down style, so we don't leave anyone out.
Johnny Deck - Vocals (Age 28)Johnny's a charismatic fellow, and isn't afraid to voice his opinion. Likewise, most of his friends say he offers great advice. After dropping out of high school, Johnny developed a love for singing, and could be heard singing anything from Metallica to The Offspring in his late teens and early twenties.
Leon Deck - Drums (Age 31)Leon's quite opposite to his brother, Johnny. He's a soft spoken man, and doesn't like to show off. He rocks out with a five-piece drum kit, and he's the one who usually updates the website. He's married with two children.
Jasper Fade - Bass (Age 29) Jasper's a large man, and he used to be a drummer. In fact, when the idea of Infexxion was kicked around, Jasper was originally on drums, but when Leon offered to be in the band, Jasper quickly took up bass. He's often seen wearing a ball cap during the live shows, usually turned backwards.
HISTORYInfexxion started as a small side project of a group of 3 guys who wanted to jam. The original line up was Johnny Deck on Vocals and Bass, Christian Walling on lead guitar, and Jasper Fade on drums. However, after the band started taking themselves more seriously and dedicating themselves to music, Johnny's older brother Leon took up drums and Jasper switched to bass, relieving Johnny to just vocals. The band played several clubs in 2007, trying to build somewhat of a reputation for themselves.
Their big break hit in 2009 when they released their debut album, secured a website, and launched their first US tour. The album was named 'Missing Piece Of The Puzzle', and while it didn't fair too well with critics, the band saw it as a giant leap forward in terms of broadening their scope of possibilities. "When you go from playing in front of 200 people at a local club to playing in front of 1,000 people that are YOUR fans, it's just mind blowing when you put it into perspective of where you were to where you are now." Lead singer Johnny Deck says. Infexxion were unable to complete their 'Missing Piece Of The Puzzle' tour due to bassist Jasper Fade breaking his leg and the band unable to afford a replacement tour bassist.
Instead, the band gave a gift to the fans in the form of a quick follow up album. A mere two months after the band's debut, their sophomore album 'Black Lifeline' hit store shelves. The album got amazing reviews, but somehow managed to fly under the radar, not even breaking 500,000 sales. Still, the band saw it as an amazing success and played their hearts out to their fans on the 'Black Lifeline' tour with no support from any other bands.
The band continued to support Black Lifeline with some off shows and touring as support with 'Written In Red' on a leg of their tour. The band enjoyed the diversity amongst the crowd and appreciated the help they got with playing larger venues. It helped them pump out 3 singles from Black Lifeline, 'American Terrorist', 'Abyss', and 'Godsend', among all of them 'Abyss' being the most popular but the band chose to usually close their set with 'American Terrorist' for the majority of their tours in support of Black Lifeline.
The band was then not heard from for several months, with exceptions of sparse updates from Leon, confirming the band hadn't broken up and they had a 'surprise' coming for the fans. Bassist Jasper Fade had personal issues to work out (as confirmed by Leon, bandmate) and the band did not return in full swing until July 2010 where a new single and tour was announced. The new single, 'Blow You Away' was released 07/03/2010.
The new Infexxion album, 'The Redemption', was released 7/20/2010. The second single from the album was confirmed to be 'Forget Your Wishes' on 08/08/10, and was released the following week. 'Broken Sky' was the third single, and since had become their biggest-selling single. The band finished up 'The Redemption Tour' in September 2010, and then shortly after announced their own tour, 'The Rockers & Renegades Tour', and also announced they would be appearing at the 'Warped Tour!'. 'Shades Of Gray' was also announced to be the fourth single off 'The Redemption'. 'The Last Breath' was later released as another single. 'The Spectrum' was the 6th and final single from the album.
In January 2011, the band finished up the dates on 'Warped Tour!' and proceeded to announce on their website that guitarist Christian Walling was departing from the band due to personal issues. The band assured fans that there was no rivalry or hate, and that they have parted on good terms, and wish Christian the best in the future. Infexxion are currently in the process of recording their fourth full-length album, and have released an updated version of their old fan-favorite song "Burn Burn", titled "Burn Burn 2011", as a single. It has done very well on the charts. The band has said they are bringing in several guitarists to record on the new album, and will select a full-time replacement around the time the album drops. In a recent interview, drummer Leon Deck has stated there are about 14 songs written, and they're having a hard time narrowing it down to 10, and that "about 75% of the recording is done".
